Having a few spare hours yesterday, we decided to knock a couple of Athena voyages out... 2 man sloop
All about the business... No speed runs needed today, it's the weekend.
Voyage number 1 went without event... Skull fort popped halfway through so we did that and marked the map for a return with the key a little later...
Voyage number 2....... Well!!! Here's where it all went a little bendy...
The quest locations were fair, mostly up around the left hand side of the map... So far so good
Crates collected, boat restocked, off we go
First location was Cresent isle for OoS.
Skellys on the beach just in front of the cave, thanks SoT fairy..
Light work, cannonballing most, quest complete
We grab a few golden snakes and some nicely placed kegs for defence and both merch voyages.
South to mermaids for a little light digging next...
I set about digging up the boxes, whilst my comrade Boss runs around messing about with chickens
Another island dealt with and we are off to Discovery ridge for a bit more light digging.....
(This maybe why my pirate looks like he's missed leg day, all this digging is great for back and shoulders!!)
Once again we split the tasks
Boss is now hunting Pigs, I'm digging again... (Hmmmmm, I'm doing a lot of grunt work)
The chests are found... Although most of the time on the island is spent running away from asthmatic skeletons carrying kegs, sometimes they are great, other times their a pain in the rusty dabloon
Riddle at plunder, riddle at wanderers and on to Lone cove for the last OoS... Simple.... Oh.... No skeletons at Lone cove...anywhere.... We search high, we search low.... We sail around the island.... And again..... We sail the other way around the island....
I fire my self high above the island for a better view....
I check the quest.... I realise we should be at cannon cove...... We head south!! Oops
Mistake number 1 on a relatively easy voyage, we can brush over that....
We take out the skeletons on cannon cove and head to cash up the pigs, snakes and keg at plunder..... This is going to be a quick time....
A rogue cannonball is fired from the island.
It strikes the back of the boat, followed by another.... AHH darn it... I'm on sails trying to get a bit of wind, Boss is fixing the holes.. this isn't a problem for us... We sail out of harm's way
One of our golden pigs isn't sat in his cage....
I guess he ate a cannonball, at least he wasn't crying anymore...
Ok, we need a replacement porker....
Snake island.... Must of been a sign we missed saying golden striped pigs out of stock....
Paradise spring..... All out of bacon

Golden pigs a plenty...
And a sloop.... Hmmmmm
Boss sets half mast and sails around the outside whilst I run around like an idiot putting pigs in boxes...
Some coordination is required so I can time a jump and grab our ladder whilst the boat is still moving...
I miss.....
The passing sloop takes a shot at me whilst saying he's friendly... Huh???
We have had to almost completely stop...
I grab the piggy and board our ship.
So does random new pirate as his sloop sails off around the island.
Mistake number 2....
Random pirate says he has joined an open boat and his new partner is a bit of a di.........fferent person.
He even fires a few of our cannonballs at him.....
Ok, his boat is keeping his distance...
Ok, still weary but a little less so I entertain captain random.
"So, what can we do for you sir?"
"I need to sit on skull thrones for the commendations" came the reply...
"Ok, we are kinda busy but which ones do you need to get? If they are close you can tag along for a bit"
"Ermmmmm........ All of them....... Haven't got any yet..... Don't know where they are....."
A quick check on my bilge rat section, I blindly reel off the areas he needs to go.... Boss is sailing the boat....
"Ok, there's a coop throne at Plunder outp........"

He had an awful mic, couldn't work out everything he was saying, so stars will have to do...
All our fresh pigs were now in the drink....
"GG Di......fferent head" I say...
I'm off the boat after him
I get close and manage to end his toxic mouth...
Boss is in the water with the first crate, I find the second
They are sailing around for an attack
Cannon balls fly into the side of our boat, boss is back on, I follow.
Sails down we will have to circle, boat fixed, we are a crate down....
Their boat is sailing away...
"I wonder...... They've pinched our crate!!!"
" Bar Stewards" came the response from Boss
(I'm not sure what their profession has to do with any of this...)
Ok, the chase is on...
We manage to gain and eventually catch our new pirate friends a battle ensues
They stop firing, are they out of cannonballs?
(We had approx 235! Thanks to a cannonball crate we had picked up earlier)
We get in close..... I jump..... I miss..... Balls!!!
Boss jumps and catches the ladder, he drops anchor and I manage to climb up
One of them is in the water, the other gets dispatched...
Primary objective
The pig box.
Pirate 2 is sent to Davy Jones and whilst Boss stays on their boat, I'm back on a mermaid to ours.
A quick turnaround and our boat is next to theirs.
Pig crate recovered
They are all but sunk
An explosion.....
One of them has got into our crows nest and dropped lit kegs onto the deck
Killing his friend and putting several holes in our beloved boat
So their boat has gone, there's one sat in our crows next still being a little toxic
He jumps down, I'm stuck on the sloop which is a pain!!!
Boss kills him whilst I do a complete exam on a nearby sharks internals
The ferry of the damned wasn't a family friendly environment......
I offered him a banana, but he wouldnt stop...
I spawn back on an island....
Boss is still floating in the deep blue, touching our neatly gathered loot and cherished crates so they don't sink
The boat is at Lookout point!!!! Thank you SoT f*****s (again)
We went down just south of thieves haven eventually so with some rough guess work from Boss (getting nibbled by hungry sharks) I spot his name plate before he disappears
Boss respawns just as I catch a glimpse of a green glow in the water to our left, so we anchor and play fetch...
Pig crates first, then the rest...
We lost nothing....
Maybe a little pride......
We had fallen victim to our own trustworthiness
Suffice to say, capture pigs V3.1 was a success, and some new kegs were obtained by some well placed headshots on those wonderful spawning gunpowder skellys (wait.... What?)
Merch voyage finally cashed in for the Athena chest map to pop
Level 7 is getting closer......
Even with the toxic mouth on this pirate, we laughed about the whole thing, we got bested (ish) but we managed to turn it around and came out on top
I even admired the way we got suckered into his tale of nonsense
