Is it gonna be on Tuesday or Wednesday?
what day is patch?
@roughleech03117 Ahoy matey!
The planned day is Tuesday but will hear more tomorrow if that is to go ahead. The Gunpowder Skeletons event is scheduled to finish at 10am BST Tuesday 10th July (which will take a patch and some maintenance to bring it to an end).
Keep yer eyes peeled on the status page for updates tomorrow!
It would be really good if https://www.seaofthieves.com/status were updated to show that.
Right now, its Monday 9th July (in Australia), but the status pages still shows:
The game will be unavailable due to necessary maintenance at these times:
•Wednesday 4th July 10am – 3pm BSTThe status page should be updated as soon as a patch is planned. If the plan changes, then the page should be updated immediately!
Ahoy there. They are indeed rather later with that, but keep in mind that it's a Sunday now. You're right to say they should change the status page right after maintenance has been completed, but this doesn't happen from time to time.
Just know that the usual days for maintenance are either Tuesdays or Wednesdays! If it's different, they'll let us know through Twitter and you'll probably see it here on the forums when one of the @Boatswain posts a topic on it :)
I do not use Twitter (or Facebook). Nor should I have to. I rely on the Sea of Thieves web site for Sea of Thieves information!!!
@surveyorpete Just keep an eye on the forums here :), there is always someone on the lookout for these things!
You are all missing the point.
There is an official status page right here in the main menu.
If you want to know when the next update is planned (or anticipated) that should be the first, and only, place you need to look.
You should NOT have to:
- use Twitter
- use Reddit
- use Facebook
- hope someone has mentioned in a thread here
- follow any particular person (or bot) in these forums
- have Joe Neate's personal phone number
THE STATUS PAGE SHOULD BE UPDATED ASAP ALWAYS

Sometimes Thursdays as well

I agree. However, a simple tweet from a community manager is probably faster which is probably why they rely on Twitter so much.
if it isn't up to date and we have to go elsewhere for the info, why have an official status page? Just delete it, and we will monitor the forum as other users monitor social media for updates.
If they want to keep it as the official page, then, as @SurveyorPete points out, they should update it.@surveyorpete said in what day is patch?:

You'll never get Joe's phone number with that attitude
While you should not have to, that's not reality. You know what you must do.
Yes, I know the updates are usually on a Tuesday or, failing that, a Wednesday (or a Thursday) - always in peak playing hours in Australia.
I know that there is often a thread here that talks about when it might be.
I know that if I used Twitter, I might be able to find out, there.
But I am just one of four million users around the world that have played Sea of Thieves since launch. Not all four million come here and use the forums. A good many probably just play the game, and may not even know these forums, and the support page, exists.
Some of the four million will not speak English, and might not understand the posts / tweets written in English.
The more I think about it, the more it becomes clear that all notices about planned system downtime, appropriately localised, should be IN GAME for all to see, every time a player logs on. And those notices should be posted / updated as soon as that downtime is planned.

Yes, when it's delayed. Main days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Other options, in case of a delay, are Thursday and Friday.
