Hold my grog we got you

  • Being bored on a Friday afternoon I decided to hop into an open server on a sloop. I Ended up getting paired up with a fellow pirate legend who had just finished doing a couple of voyage, got to love a little free loot! I took the wheel and helped him sail to the nearest outpost To sell the dozen captains chests and skulls he had on board. Upon finishing up at the outpost we notice skull fort had popped and decided to get that done since we were in the area. We were the first to arrive however a sloop soon followed flashing lanterns and screaming “we are friendly!”. We greet them with an ahoy! and proceed to team up to help them with their commendations. All is well and then a third sloop shows up also waiving the friendly flag... and then a fourth. Things start to get a tad hectic and skellys are getting split up every which way due to the sheer amount of players trying to group them (RIP chain reaction). We complete a few waves and then an awkward silence ensues the moment someone brings up the treasure situation. Me and my sloopmate state we only want to open the door (for completion purposes) and everyone else can divide it amoungst themselves. One team called skull, another the chest, and the final team ( a couple of young kids) agreed to take whatever remained... seemed fair enough. Once the captain showed up we quickly dispatched him, I grab the key open the door and feel satisfied at a job well done. I make my way back to the ship and start to hear gunfire. Turns out two of the teams got greedy and opened fire on the kids and started to bad mouth them in game chat. At that moment me and my crewmate both ran back and proceeded to send every member of both hostile sloops to the ferry. We grabbed the chest and skull and loaded them onto the kids sloop and proceeded to sail it to an outpost. These kids were both surprised and completely confused as to why two dudes were driving thier ship with the best loot on board while firing at the enemy sloops furiously chasing close behind. We reach the outpost a few seconds ahead of the others and told the kids to jump onshore with the fort loot while we keep the enemies busy. They make it there and cash in and start screaming with joy! Some pirates are good, some are bad, some are bored. If you say your friendly stick to it. Better to have a bit of no hassle loot than get shot in the face for being mean and greedy. Happy sailing!

  • Yeah, ain't that the truth. Good on you for standing ground on that.

  • Well played
We were doing the same thing whilst trying to get those commendations
We would end up playing escort to any new found temporary friends to ensure they got to cash everything in
We weren't in it for the loot, just the badge to say event complete
We the few genuine pirate legends.

  • Skull fort or not, we have seen a LOT of Pirates claiming to be friendly, just to attack as soon as they get close.

Sad as we are generally a friendly crew, but now are forced to attack anyone that approaches closely claiming to be friendly or not just out of self preservation.

  • I've seen paranoid pirates attack 1st and repair 2nd, along with numerous apologies. 😆
