How many Pirate Legends are there, exactly?

    So, I was just thinking...

    Rare said in their E3 trailer that they have 4 million players, obviously this isn't an exact number so what I'm about to say won't be entirely accurate.

    After realizing the statistical benefits of this number I went ahead and found the percentage for the achievement "Become Pirate Legend" and it says 0.21% of players have earned it.

    Some simple math later and we have a rough estimate of around 8400 Legends; give or take.

    I realize that Legend status is meant to be exclusive some what but 8400?! There must be more than that, surely! Personally I'd have put the number around 20-30k, how about you guys?

    Do you think this rough estimate is roughly correct or completely wrong?

    @xsarcasticbritx the % on the achievement is for anyone who's ever played, even for a few seconds, so it might be low because of the millions of people who got it through game pass free trial but then never committed to either the game or the pass, that 0.21% is probably out of a much larger number than 4million current active players

    @xsarcasticbritx Ahoy matey!

    Around a month or so ago we did hear that it was around 5-7k players that had reached Pirate Legend... nobody knows the actual figure as it is a closely kept secret but it is still a small percentage of the actual player base.

    @musicmee Do you have a source for the 5-7k from a few months ago? If so we could find a closer number.

    @xsarcasticbritx it was Joe Neate from one of the e3 videos. And estimations using your method here gave the right results, so I think it's right on. The 4 million from the graphic is almost certainly total players, not active players.
