Would be nice to see some Mavericks or tidal waves in the game and if you hit them wrong they could capsize the ship. Make them a random event like them coming in with a maelstrom storm or something. Would be pretty cool trying to ride a tidal wave on a sloop or galleon. Especially if your crews not on point. Just a suggestion that I think the community would like to see in the future hopefully.
Tidal waves or rogue waves
To elaborate on this idea:
The rogue wave would be seen from a distance, to give a Galleon a slight chance to turn as the turning circle on the larger vessel is vast.
Unfortunately, I don’t believe the ships should be able to be capsized unless fully sunk, because an hour or more’s worth of an Athena’s Voyage could be taken away with a single wave, which I don’t believe is too fair.

There's quite a tall behind that...
It happened years ago:Twuz 23 years ago when Captain Longberd was delivering merchant cargo to Rock Outpost.
(That was it's name before it was called Galleon's grave)
It was a thunderous and rainy night!
With the biggest tropical storm on the seas any of us have ever seen!
A lighting strike cracked through the night and smote one of those huge spiky rocks, which are very common in that part of the sea!
The rock fell into the sea with a massive splash!
It spawned a wave so high it was taller than 5 Galleon's stacked on top of each other.
This fateful wave came right at Captain Longberd.
& One of his crew men said:
"Captain, we shall Perish by the hand of that wave!"
But he said:
"Turn our stern to that wave lad!"
His crew did as he Commanded.
The waves came upon them and bore them to the top of its brow!
They could see rock outpost from that hight!
"Captain look!"
Captain Longberd responded with:
"AYE!!!"
and they smote on top of the 2 rocks which meet at the pinnacle of rock outpost.
One half remained on top, and the other fell into the sea...
A crew of 47 men he had, now only 12 were alive to tell the tall...Well, that's how it happened.
