Kraken & Treasure issue

  • Just encountered a Kraken right on the verge of getting to plunder outpost, with all our loot including the stronghold stuff. The Kraken pulled all of us apart from one crew mate from the ship and then wrapped the ship and wouldn’t let go no matter how much we hit it.

We respawned on an island close enough where we could see the Kraken and quickly returned in the hopes of getting our loot back. Everything was there apart from the skulls and the chests (the expensive things we had worked for).

I don’t know why the crates, merchants stuff, trinkets and gunpowder survived but the skulls and chests didn’t. And if this is some kind of bug can it please be fixed as it was very frustrating getting back to find it gone.

Also I don’t think the Kraken should be able to pull every member of your ship from the boat and wrap all at the same time as what happened to us last week. This leave a no win situation.

Sounds like a tough stroke of luck you had there. Make sure to report this if you think it's a bug here: https://support.seaofthieves.com/hc/en-gb/requests/new

  • this was your own fault sorry. If you dont want to get "sucked" you need to shoot the kraken with cannons and shoot the closest ones as well so it wont wrap your ship, if it does hit it with blunderbuss not your sword, and that expensive stuff has lower despawn time if its in the water then the rest of the loot

Yeah we know how to fight the Kraken :)

The issues isn't that we sunk, we can deal with that, it may have been our fault, for trying to run rather than fully initialising combat. Like i said we accept that. But we lost such a variety of value chests and skulls, that your comment doesn't add up. We spawned literally one island over from Plunder and were back with no time at all. The chickens were still alive and everything was there other than any Chests or any Skulls.

Anyway, if it is a game mechanic and it's meant to be that way, then fair enough we lost it and it's done, we move on. But if there is something that means chests and Skulls are bugged to disappear while in Kraken water i'd rather it fixed for any potential next time :)

and that expensive stuff has lower despawn time if its in the water then the rest of the loot you did not read this ?

  • The only thing I can't stand is that Treasure in the water sinks way too quickly - and it would be nice if birds appeared over a sunken ship location.

I did read this, hence why I replied :)

but by that logic shouldn’t chest that are all different values or skulls despawn at a different rate. And if what your saying is the case (which I now believe it is) In my opinion the spawn time needs changing. If you spawn at the island next to the one you sunk at and instantly go back. I.e getting to your sunken ship within a few minutes of being sunk, the treasure should still be there.

After sailing on my own and being sunk by an island while down a shipwreck, I had discovered it’s not just Kraken water.

Like I said, in my opinion the current set
time gives you no chance to get your stuff back. I could understand it not being there if I was on the other side of the map or a few islands away. But not right next door and still being able to clearly see where you sunk.
