We have all had those moments where you have just defeated a skeleton captain and a ship rolls up to fight you. You try and find a good hiding space for your well earned skull, but it just keeps glowing. While you are battling out the other ship, you have a high chance of them finding your loot. This is why I think you should be able to bury the treasure you find. Burying the treasure allows you to safely hide your loot and not worry about it being found. The only way people would know where the loot is, is if someone saw you burying it. This is a great solution to bounty skulls, but it could also be used for gold hoarder things, as well as the teas, spices, and sugar from the merchant. Let me know what you guys think!
Bury Treasure
I do like the idea of burying stuff. I've definitely lost stuff that I tried to stash in some bushes or behind a rock before enemy engagements. I don't think it should just disappear entirely so there's no chance for someone else to find it. Maybe it should leave a small mound of fresh dirt that's noticeable to a passerby that might be looking.
I have thoughts about this as well.
So if you make a hole with the spade anywhere its possible, then you pick up your stuff and a prompt would show up at the hole like "Bury" and hold your interaction button for a good couple of seconds and voila a small lump of dirt marks your freshly buried treasure...So if you make a hole with the spade anywhere its possible, then you pick up your stuff and a prompt would show up at the hole like "Bury" and hold your interaction button for a good couple of seconds and voila a small lump of dirt marks your freshly buried treasure...
That's exactly how I have imagined it could work too. Furthermore, an island map could be added to your quest wheel, with an "X" (perhaps in blue) marking the spot of your buried treasure.
