Campaign/Story Mode?

  • Really hope that a campaign is in the making. Idk, I enjoy the game a bunch as it is. Definitely like where the Devs are going with new campaigns coming every other week(ish). This is a great idea and hope to see these things coming. But for friends who I am trying to get to join, they will not be able to go back and experience those campaigns so it doesn't feel right to not have some sort of story mode that is there to stay. Even if it was intertwined into the 3 or 4 factions that already exist. If this is something that is coming and I am just not aware, thats cool. But I am hoping to hear from the Devs here. I am looking forward to the upcoming summer updates (those sound amazing). Just hoping to hear about at least some sort of permanent story mode that us players can enjoy (that will also level us up in the factions). Would like to hear the communities thoughts here as well. Thanks guys.

    I don't think a story mode is in the works or any long long term campaign.

  • @katttruewalker Thanks for the video above, must have missed it before. I don't think they really mention anything about "permanent campaigns" unfortunately. But still a bunch of cool stuff coming (already knew about most of that).

  • I was on board with the thought until you wrote the part where it allows you to lvl up with the factions..

  • @ravadosh By that, I only meant that if they built the campaign into the factions (telling bits of story from each faction), you would then level up a bit (2-3 levels is all) when you complete that part of the story. But idc about that as much as just having a story mode.

  • They certainly proved with Merrick's tale that a story to introduce elements is a good idea.
    I don't really know why Merrick left after THD - it would be nice to still have him there and for new crew members to meet Meg, but I understand that by adding her and her family as a new world AI threat people may well meet Meg2.0 before ever summoning 1.0...
    Maybe they should've left him in so people could still read his tale if they wanted to?

    Ancient outdated dialouge questing with a weak story was weak 😎 hoping it gets better.

    Agreed with the rest though. Don't see why it has to be temporary.

  • @gloog I think having cosmetics that you can only get during certain times is a good idea, but they definitely need to have a permanent story that doesn't go away so newcomers have something to go off of.
