Super Awesome Pirates

  • I know I can't name names, and I won't, but there was a really cool pirate on the open sea last night. I was playing with my daughter, 7, her on Xbox One X and myself on my PC and we were trying to get all the Skellie Thrones. We just finished the solo Thrones and needed to complete multi-crew ones.
We sailed to Plunder Outpost and cautiously approached an experienced crew when my daughter pulls out her speaking trumpet and invites them to join her quest. They politely stated that they 'were doing their own thing'. My daughter took it well and we decided just to camp until another crew came. A few moments later the same pirate and her crew showed up and helped her aim the cannon to get on the throne. What's more is that right afterwards the pirate offered to show my daughter to the other thrones but right then the Xbox One X froze and she was booted from the server and game wahn wahn. All good tho, she just hopped on my PC as me while I trouble*shot(shooted?) the console.
Anyway they decided to instead hit a skull fort where my daughter, quite frankly, wasn't much help, and after defeating the Captain they not only handed her the key to open the door, but also first pick at the treasure. She didn't hesitate and ran to the Stronghold Chest(so proud). They then helped load her up with HALF the loot! In true Sea of thieves fashion another Galleon shows up looking for an easy score and the friendly pirate and her crew kept them busy, allowing my daughter to escape.

On the way to the Outpost to cash-in her loot she couldn't stop smiling IRL.

Thanks for your kindness! Definitely comfortable with the 'salt' but still, that was awesome :)

  • @king-brouille

That's a really heartwarming tale of generosity and patience, glad to read your daughter had a such a great adventure on the seas!

  • @katttruewalker you can name on forums for praise like this right?
Isn't naming and shaming more a rule against naming people who have wronged you in game?

Would be nice to know who the lovely pirates were!

  • @king-brouille Mate, that truly is heartwarming to read.
I only regret not being a part of the crew that helped your daughter and yourself respectively.
But I guess that would be selfish of me and it's even more comforting to learn that real human beings do exist in SoT.

Thanks for sharing that magical moment.
Fair winds and happy sailing to both parties. :o)

  • I love it.
I've had some great experiences in-game, including one with a young child player, over the past week, and I'm looking forward to more.

My wife and I met a very young player on the sea, and he offered to be our scout for the throne hunt, hehe... how could we refuse? We ended up all playing together, as separate crews, for several hours - finding and sitting upon all ten thrones together.

  • I met a young kid last night, he was solo like me. I was unloading a big load of loot when he just appeared on the beach. You could tell he didn't know completely how to play yet so I gave him some pointers and my last two Seafarers chests, just to be nice. There are times when being cordial is appropriate.

  • I helped out a dude that stole the Fort skull from a galleon the other day.

Took him to Golden Sands and dropped him off. Sometimes you just have to be nice to people :)

  • @drbullhammer Correct! It's basically designed to stop pirate witch hunts... keeps the place much more friendly!

  • @Musicmee @Sshteeve Her exact GT I don't know because my attention was mainly on trying to get the Xbox One X to fire-up Sea of Thieves. I didn't write it down, but it was 'Smartblonde...' or 'Smartestblonde...' I feel like there was something at the end like a number but again, I didn't write it down. Her and her crew made my daughter's day.
