I think adding throwing dice to the game as a piece of equipment would be a great addition to the game.
Dice and gambling are very pirate themed. There are so many scenarios where dice could be used. Crews could work together to take down a skelly fort and then roll the dice to see who gets what, or the even entire cache. Pirates could gamble with each other and bet with the loot they've found. Crews could pass the time on long voyages by playing dice games with each other. There's just so many possibilities of how they could be used...
There are dozens of existing dice games to played just using six sided dice, adding dice to the game allows players to play all of these other existing games within Sea of Thieves.
Players could select the dice and throw them on any surface in the game world where they are visible to all players. The alternative interaction with the dice can be to select how many dice to throw so you can choose to throw 1, 2, 3 or more dice to throw at once. Like with all the other equipment there can be different dice skins to buy and unlock.
I think Sea of Thieves is all about giving players tools to make their own stories and I think adding dice to the game would create the opportunity for lots of great new stories.
