Rare...you did a wonderful job on the Meg!! He was very fun and intense to encounter. He did great damage to the ship that made him a great threat. Well done. The Kraken on the other hand is a dissapointment...sorry to say. The Kraken is supposed to be feared even more than the Meg and the Meg is done so much better. The Kraken NEEDS to be FEARED. I suggest that you bring the tenticles in tighter to a ship. All the tenticles should be doing something at all times...once one has let go of the ship another should grab on immediately...they should be putting holes in the ship continuously. The Kraken is supposed to be the end of all life if encountered. It needs major work to be held to the higher standard of most SoT players. Thx.
Kraken Vs. Megaledon
I don't want to be a negative nelly, but Rare have already stated that the Kraken will be evolving as the game progresses.
I'm guessing that because it was their first big beastie it's like the first boss in any other game (e.g not as much of a challenge as the others)
Don't get me wrong as I completely agree with you, it is way too easy to scare off, but as it will be continuously changing and growing into a more and more fearsome threat, I'm not too worried about it not living up to the legends.Pulling the tentacles in closer to a ship was my first thought too but then i suppose it wouldn't look as big or something. I dunno. I'd like to think now Megan is in the world and has set the bar the Kraken might think of upping his game. :D

Going to be hella fun when it pops up just after you completed a hard fought skull fort (example) with 3 other ships so you are low and everything and then the hungering one pops up.
And the kraken is not complex at all:
- shoot tentacles that are closest first
- cut of any wrapping tentacles
- might a teammate get sucked by tentacle shoot that specific tentacle
It doesnt really put holes in you unless it wraps around the ship.
The meg however hits you with 4-5 holes every time it hits, knocks the boat way of course and have a high chance to fly off your ship

so the 3 points u listed there is way more complex than "bites your ship"
so the kranken is 66,66% more complex@thealcani keeps circling your ship, you actually have to make sure someone gets on repairs asap as soon as he bites, make sure you are constantly loaded up on planks and bananas and keep an eye on her so you can shoot her constantly.
The amount of targets are more abbundunt in the kraken, yes and yes it has two ways of attack instead of one but if you add it up:
Meg:
- knocks your boat way off course
- puts alot of holes in you in a single attack
- repairing immediately is adament
- fast moving target
- can knock multiple people off board in one fell swoop
Kraken:
- one attack that takes one person off board at a time
- seperate attack that makes it an easy target which puts one or two holes in you
- tentacles are easy mostly motionless targets
I do think this is gonna rol down into a agree to disagree type of situation, but i am not at all scared if i encounter the kraken howver once the meg becomes a permanent roaming random encounter i would be a little nervous if i had loot on board
