Long Travels feel Empty, Things to do on the ship

     I have been playing SoT for quite some hours now. One thing I have noticed, especially on long travels is that it feels damn boring. The game feels empty. There is nothing to do on long travel voyages, other than get drunk and jump out the boat, or play shanties that get repetetive over some time. If Rare wants to give depth to the game, one that it is kind of missing. Little things, or big should be considered. 
     The player needs to be able to feel that he or she, is doing something progressive. Quite often I get randoms that quit because it is taking too long to get to a small island.. Especially obvious new players, they kind of perceive the game as being boring at first glance. And that is true, that is why people are not too happy currently. 
        Maybe add a brewing area, brew different types of potions or beer from materials on islands, that you could sell to the merchants and Order of Souls. (Another way to boost their progression.) Maybe a small kitchen? That allows you to peel potatoes or cook crabs! Potatoes give more health. Progression! Maybe mini games? Arm wrestle could be the "faster tapper". Roll the dice mini game? Or simply any type of progression to feel in the gap of what feels like a meaningless journey.. sometimes.
      Now, the sails would still need to be managed. 2 people could easily do those, but sometimes people could be real bummasses as well. "Raise the sails", or "Angle the sailes" could be easily be pointed out more while you are doing these "activities". So for example, while peeling potatoes, the captain wants the sails raised. He or she text chats, the text chats would be pointed out more to the player below deck! And obviosly these "thing to do" are suposed to be for long travel. So it does not feel empty, and give the game morre depth. There is always that very bottom deck
