T26

  • What I want to know is if anyone has tried else where? Or if this is the only place Meg can be summoned?

    It is the only place.

  • It would be more interesting if the shark would show up anywhere like a random bite to your ship just to scare you and then just swims back down to the depths but then the real fight is at T26

  • @aod-fluid thank you.

    @aod-fluid thank you.

I do think after this campaign ends that it will be released into the world as the Kraken roams. Not sure about that, have not seen anything official yet.

  • @female-hellboy I picked up a solo slooper kid at sharkbait with my galleon crew. Most annoying, self righteous player I’ve come across so far. He tried telling us that we had to be in the range of Devil’s Ridge to spawn the island name and the Meg. He sounded so confident that we obliged him against our better judgement. (By the way, this is outside of T26). We played the drums for about 3 minutes and nothing. That’s When I told him that he had confused Devil’s Ridge with the Devil’s Shroud. He tried to argue but we dropped sails and headed to T26 and closer to the edge of the shroud. He continued to whine and complain as he followed us, but promptly shut up when he was proven wrong.

T26 is the spot. Don’t let anyone tell you different. They are WRONG.

  • That location has no other landmarks for a few squares, so the fight doesn't get ruined by meg showing that it doesn't have any collision with world objects, phasing through islands and whatnot.

The whole problem is now if this will persist on the next weeks, if they wont release meg on the open seas in fear of its collision shenanigans breaking the fight.

  • @solo11volante thank you.

  • @female-hellboy if you’re having trouble spawning the Shark, move closer to the shroud. Not sure if this is sound advice but it worked for us. Also, Merrick said the water was already red, but then got redder (as his crew was killed) so this tells us it’s in the Devil’s shroud range. Hope this helps.

  • @solo11volante thank you again. Iv had no issues summoning Mrs Meg. But like others I too hope she is released into the open sea.. (I'm going with it being female as the biggest great whites are normally female. And Meg works. Hope it sticks lol).

Lol. You talk like you've seen it. In reality it stays clear of islands. I happened to go too close to Devil's Ridge the first time I tried, and it just waited for us to come back out.

  • @ve111a
    I fixed it.

  • @aod-fluid if it just roams after the event. it does need a slight nerf in health. cause it does devour a lot of your planks.

you will see in 2 weeks, what happen then ;)

  • @ve111a Unless his name was "a solo slooper kid" I see nothing wrong in the quote.

  • @female-hellboy @Jorin33 @oxynatOr

Here's what Joe had to say, Meg will be an Ai in game after the event for random encounters.

Every time you play, there will be a chance of encountering the new A.I. threat and experience the new systems. The quest will highlight the stuff we're bringing into the game.

but the meg will become a Nerf? i'm so worried about my animals on the legend quest right now :'(
    pls help me out here

  • @oxynator That.. we don't know... seriously though, I wouldn't want to encounter her on a duo sloop. Maybe there might be a way to soothe her... play the drum tune, sacrifice a chicken..? We'll have to wait and see.

  • @katttruewalker hahahaha, so you say:

before you start a legend quest, better get some animals in stock, to give them to Meg... if you really plan stuff like this... you can call it Empty-Sea.Of.Thieves for sure...

getting attacked by griefers and the Kraken is already hard... i mean, there are ppl wating on outpost just to shoot you and steal the legend chest, that is one thing, because now we go with 3 guys and guard the chest...

but starting a quest to skip it.... no thanks...
loosing the cheast to a overpowered AI ... no thanks .... you already fight the way out of skeletons with aim.bot and wallhacks, and then this? (and not talking about the white skeletons spawning all over the island, protecting the other skeletons....)

at least, we agree, that Meg have to be a Women. a mother shark, she is so upset with us because we killed all here babies... and you come with a song or a chicken... haha :P

if i was not nice to you, please forgive me, i'm a German and sometimes it is hard to find the right words.

  • Yeh T26 is the spot but literally on the very edge of the map (bottom of the T26 square)

I will also say that if you do sail to an island the meg stays at a distance until you return from the island. I learned this when the Meg sent my ship sailing towards devils ridge and I run a ground. The meg stayed back circling patiently until I set sailed again. The music dies down but the beast waits.

Every cannonball you hit it with on it's approach is one less hole you take. Four cannonballs is zero holes.

It is a "sea monster" though. As a sailor in pirate times, just expect to lose a ship to it from time to time. Same with the Kraken. I have never seen it before, but I FINALLY saw the Kraken hit a slooper the other day. He got away, but I can only imagine when they finally revisit the Kraken that things will get a bit tougher.

  • @katttruewalker the poor chicken.

  • Friday night and Rare are throwing down a challenge...

I didn't think the Kraken currently attacked sloops. Am I wrong? Have they changed that?

Don't know, but there was a galleon and sloop close to one another...and the Kraken pretty clearly had the sloop. The galleon turned around and left. lol...

  • @katttruewalker said in T26:

Then they better make it so it's summonable without 5 people... because currently it takes forever to get it going and I don't see this happening as it stands.

  • @Captain-Arcanic @AOD-fluid I was under the impression a kraken would not attack a sloop UNLESS it is spawned by a Galleon and the sloop is just too close or within range.

It could be that the sloop tried to help the galleon and just got in it...and the galleon got out. But the sloop was definitely the ship left in the middle when we went past.

    Hold my grog.

  • It's officially called the Devil's Shroud? I've always referred to it, and heard it, as the Red Sea...

thumbs up??? really? look, uf... it will not be funny, and TBH, why i should waste my time doing some quests and get cutoff by the Meg... wh not splitting the Crew and camp at for outpost with GP.kegs and blow them up at the entry of the travern... so you have a legend chest...

You adding events to become a more co-op adventure, what si super nice... but then you just dont think and put pure b******t out...

The Meg can now attack when even it wants, so randomly--- really?
so good buy legend quest, or pill-up the boot with not-needed-cases-and-spread-them-over-the-game-so-the-server-will-crache-with-an-local-buffer-overflow.. (DOS-Attack) ... not only all the trolls on the open sea that you have to take care of, noooo, now a 30 Minute fight can come on top.... stop that c**p!

or if you just pit out empty words.... do not do it, it will let me think about the game and what can go wrong... because there is no plus on adding Meg... specally for sloops... they don't get the chance to fight the Kraken (5 minute fight) but the Meg Thumbs-Up

i'm pretty upset now.... and you really make me thinking, is the game worst the time anymore...

funny ha, the Kranken dont. but the Meg will...
    its like 1+1=11 for RARE...
