Now that we have another "big monster" in the seas why not just make it so you get a bit of gold upon defeating them? Being a monster hunter as a side activity could make the gameplay loop more interesting, I think any alternative way of earning gold can help the gameplay feel more diverse and make the AI threat less an annoyance and more a fight worth... well, fighting. Thoughts?
Monster Hunting? Why not?

@offic3rravioli Yeah, I don't see much incentive to fight Meg after the event ends and you cant get her rewards anymore.
They'll have to add some incentive to go fight her.
Well, you know, if she's going to be popping up in game randomly after the event is over, I might want to go out there and try a few different strategies, test her against 1 sloop, 2 sloops, solo galleon etc and because it's a lot of fun....
@katttruewalker I haven't played the campaign yet but for what I've heard the fight sounds fun! Can't wait!
@katttruewalker I thought I heard rumors that a player would potentially be able to summon the Megaladon to fight the Kraken in the future.
I do think using some of the models they aready have for like a serpent, chicken, and pig boss wouldnt be too much to knock out, possibly :) They could set them to spawn on random islands, make them difficult to take down, and give you rep and gold. This would add another aspect to working as a team that they are starting to explore!

Whoa... I'd like to know where you heard that!

@zyrkal The campaign and its rewards are time limited. Everything else stays. So you have limited time to get figurehead, alternate drum, alternate trumpet, and special scars and tattoos.
Would be nice to work hard to track these monsters and have them flee from you quite a bit and having it very difficult to actually kill them. But once you do, it should be a great reward that people will know about. Right now, everyone kills these monsters and it's like nothing. You don't feel like you achieved anything.
