Optional Crossplay

  • Is OP's position that the separation of the PC and Xbox player base will better his gaming experience noticeably?

  • Here we are again. I am sure that everyday another person will post a thread like this. At least now every other comment won't be, hey there is a mega thread for this. Lol
Anyway, if Rare can see stats on pvp they would easily see that I personally took the get good approach. I rarely get killed or sunk anymore. I solo sloop and wreck galleons. I tandem sloop and wreck multiple galleons at skull forts. I solo so much that playing with a crew on a galleon puts the game on easy mode.
Seriously once I downloaded SoT on my gaming PC, oh, I mean once I finally learned to "get gud " I became a recking machine on the high seas.
That said, I miss my controller and comfrey couch. Playing a game sitting at my desk gets old quick, almost starts to feel like work. I find myself looking for the next good game for xbox to drop. If it is forced crossplay, I may trade in the xbox for a playstation.

Why anyone would buy an Xbox in the first place is beyond me.

Why don’t you stream your PC to your TV and use a controller?

Also you should capture your gameplay or steam so we can all see what a bad motha feisi you are.

  • I’m super done with this topic it is what it is at this point from me but any pc players who think they don’t have a unfair advantage is either a liar or delusional. Xbox players simply don’t move as quick as pc players. Also I play with scuff controllers & game freaks. They still have better maneuverability, faster load times & platform advantages Xbox players don’t have. Everybody is entitled to their own opinions if Xbox players prefer not to play with/against pc players that is their opinion. Considering they pay monthly Xbox membership fees on top of paying for the game. I think they should be able to voice their opinions as loudly as they’d like. I personally hope rare does make crossplay optional.

  • This is why I stopped playing SoT. I'm not alone either. From my own friends list about 50% quit out of boredom and the other 50% because that got sick of being trolled by PC players. It was impossible to find 3 others to go kill a giant shark just for a night.
When the game launched there were so many XBox players that it wasn't as big a deal. You might run into a PC player once every couple of weeks. The population has changed dramatically. Now I see more PC players than XBox. What I mean by "now" is I do jump on when there is an update to see what they've fixed. I thought things might be better after the sensitivity sliders were added. NOPE!
The people that wanted crossplay disabled are the silent majority. They quietly walked away and played another game.

@kuala85 fair and balanced: the game is built to be fair and balanced to everyone.
no matter who or what uses a flintlock pistol, it will deal the same amount of damage, no matter what skin, or rank or whatever.
SAME GOES FOR SNIPER! CANNONS! BLUNDERBUSS! AND SWORD!
What you are asking for is ALREADY IN THE GAME!
The get good statement wont be used.
    instead Learn, adapt, conquer
aka get good or die over...and over and over, like you already are

plus 19% of the player base is pc...that means the other 81% is xbox, which means you've lost more times to xbox, than pc.
    School has thought me well!

I will make it nice and easy to understand for you ;)

60 fps on pc not on xbox
faster loading on pc not on xbox
hotkeys on pc not on xbox
mouse and keyboard on pc not on xbox

I dont call that fair and ballanced and school has definitely some more teaching to do in your case ;)

What about the poor PC players who only get 19 FPS?

If you are poor you would probably not be playing on pc, you can get a used xbox one for less than a 100$ and play the game at 30fps ;)
