Sniper rifle need to be fixed

  • After last update and sensibilty adjustment for every single weapon the sniper rifle (a long range weapon) is abused and used for every situation, is more efficient then pistol on middle range and more efficient then blunderbuss on short range.
    I'm tired to see player jump on boat and use the sniper, the weapons were more much better balanced before the last update, at the moment sniper rifle is overpower and pistol/blunderbuss useless.
    Please Rare fix it, this game is sea of thieves not a fps as call of duty

  • yep, i've seen videos of people using it like cod's quick scope, which pretty much is the main reason why i'll never play that game again.

    it may not be abuse, but that gun unaimed should have a huge bullet spread. it doesn't appear they've made it work like that.

  • @nwo-azcrack not an abuse but is unrealistic, did you ever see in real life a sniper kill a soldier with a shotgun on short range? You can't be reactive with the sniper as the other weapon and shot them from 1 meter

  • @zyx Why not just practice with the sniper and get better? The aim sensitivity was a great addition in the sense that it created more a balance between Xbox and PC PvP.

    Games not meant to be realistic. Its all about choice in this game. The snipe will not one shot you like the blunder can. And the snipe takes forever to reload. If ppl wanna use them up close, then they are usually at a disadvantage.

  • @warspyder sensitivity is a great addition, but I don't enjoy to how gunplay in the game is changed, I don't need pratice with sniper because I will never use it against people at short distance

  • I use the sniper at short distances ALL the time! I love the sniper rifle. Once you get decent with it you can pretty much guess where the reticle would be and I'd say enemy's within, eh say 5-10 meters? Are easily no-scopable. A couple slashes of the sword and boom, done son. I never take my sniper out of my inventory.

    And lately there's been times where I'm FAIRLY CERTAIN, can't be 100% sure because I can't see other's health bar, I've one shotted a few people. But that's a relatively recent development.

    TL;DR: don't take my toy away. :(

  • Situations like this happen, when design is purely involved, the moment the gray area is spread too wide; contexts overlap each other too much. When the contexts are big enough and with tolerably small overlap, each item feels unique enough.

    Otherwise there's always bound to be the one ring to rule them all.
