If Rare eliminate crossplay or scraped PC altogether xbox users would grow by more than 20% it would be financially beneficial...
Even if they refunded the 19% of PC users...

@holezinya i stand corrected, you edited while i was typing. Majority of players will never visit forums, even less will comment, so your 'handful of bad sports' is a bit vague. I tend to base my opinions on friends quitting and the reasons they give, not a discussion i read on a forum. I joined yesterday, the reason being that crossplay is still being forced on people, and like players from both sides of the discussion, i also wanted to share my opinion, i just managed to do it without calling people bad sports and cry babies.

more importantly, the sliders are for AIM speed. The fact that my actual turn speed when NOT aiming is so slow is an imbalance. Someone above said 'learn to shoot without aiming' (or git gud in common tongue). I can shoot without aiming, just not as fast and accurately as a mouse can. Level playing field? No.
@pikavenger its been in the pipeline for a while. A certain.. Blocky title has had it since the better together update launched.
To be honest, besides load times and frame rates (which are a give with the difference in systems), I've played with my fair share of either console players or PC players playing with controllers, who can more than hold their own in a PVP battle. Giving up quickly and assuming that you died because they "may be a PC player", seems to me more like an excuse than anything. How can you be sure that the pirate swiping your booty isn't a skilled console player? I understand that losing battle is frustrating, but I believe that practice and planning can go a long way in helping you lay siege to the next crew who has the misfortune of meeting your ready crew.
19% are PC players? That might as well be 20%! That means that 1 out of evey 5 encounters with other pirates will be a PC player, who will likely have a huge advantage in combat...
In my own personal experience, I have encountered 3 such nigh unkillable PC pirates. They hit with unerring accuracy and numerous 1-shot kills, could jump nonstop without any delay, etc. My Xbox-based crew and I would block off stairwells and surround other important areas of the ship, such as the ammo crate and anchor, and the rival PC pirate would still be besting us by getting past us or killing us, laughing and insulting us all the while.
So, no, I don't think it's inherently fair, nor more importantly, fun...
@kuala85 Xbox player here and i have to say i completely disagree with this post. I have no issue beating PC players unless they are genuinely more skilled than i am in which case they deserve the win. Sounds like you just need to practice more.

The way you can move with mouse and keyboard isnt possible with a controller, big advantage, faster and more acurate, then there are faster loading times, higher fps, hotkeys. Its not an even playingground.

XBOX : 14 Buttons (maybe 18, when you can use the 4 exrta buttons of an elite contorller)= ~83% more buttons, and ways to bind/mapp the items for your needs.. if you play RSDF (i did it at Q3 to habe more room for weapons) ..
+60 fs Limited.30 Frames (yea yea you can argumenting about HDR and stuff, but no.. HDR confuses you more because everything is looking so damn nice.)
Mouse vs Analog .. i really need to explain it?
you simply can start from scratch with the mouse, i cant lift up my analog..
i cant programm macros into the xbox... i cant .. i cant.. i cant...and know some kiddos wanna explain there is no advantage??? LOL!

and i'm telling you, that i know how the Firmware of the Controller is working... there are ascii/hex codes send to the microchip, how translate it.. it would be simple to allow us these 4 buttons as extra buttons... you understand me ? if not, i will write it in German, because my english isnt that good.
i own some Elite controllers don't worry :)
and i'm not saying it is working at the moment... that is something M$ can bring n the future

The Elite controller does actually output the paddles as independent buttons as well as what they are mapped to (if anything). The Elite controllers packet output does contain the paddle status and the xinput protocol was updated to read the additional bytes.
Unfortunately however, MS are yet to allow us to use them as additional inputs on any platform which I think is a shame.

Yes they use a own/different code for the "Back-Side-Buttons" which simple is added to a mapping table.M$ should allow them, i cant agree more to that!

Lol, people and their controller type advantage! Strange thing is, I never hear people who play fighting games complain about how it is unfair that some people have a fight stick and they are on a normal controller! :D

I wish MS would allow us to use the Elite controller paddles as independent buttons. They even an a function where you can double tap the connect button to temporarily disable the button mappings to them and it still sends the paddle status in the usb packet.

i only trust in Intel or Samsung..

hihihihihihi a fight stick :) long time no seen, last time at a Arcade machine xD@kuala85 they should add auto-aim just like in overwatch for ps4 and xbox. Once your reticle is over a target your aim speed gets decreased. so you won't go over a target while trying to aim.

People using the 'Rare said no to splitting the playerbase' line shouldn't rely on what Rare has said previously, as they can chang their mind sometimes.
Crossplay should be optional, because no amount of tweaking or accessories for the xbox will completely remove that advantage, and any honest PC user would agree on that.
