Anyone else seen the skeletal remains at Crooked Masts? Looks an awful lot like the monster coming in The Hungering Deep.

Isn’t a Kraken a sort of squid? I thought squid had no bones, except the beak
Strictly speaking; A Kraken is a legendary creature, in the classical sense. The earliest reports of it likened it more to a large, ancient whale. The squid connection is a relatively more recent version that took shape during the Age of Sail.
But since it's not a real animal, depictions can vary wildly. In Sea of Thieves, the Kraken is more akin to a half fish/half squid monster, and those skeletons on Krakens fall, and some bars, are indeed Krakens. On Dagger Tooth outpost, I think, possibly Galleon's Grave as well, you can see a few more Kraken bits and pieces, like a ship's wheel with a Kraken's Eye embedded in the center, and bits of Kraken hide adorning shops.
The monster of the Hungering Deep is most definitely something entirely different.

Early concept art depicts the Kraken as having a fish-like head with four eyes and squid-like tentacles trailing behind it.
Some theorize these skeletons are the remains of the steipereidur - a mythical sea creature that fights other dangerous monsters, on the behalf of fishermen.
Here's an old illustration of the steipereidur:

I don't THINK this will be the big monster in the Hungering Deep because 1) those skeletons are not as large as the monster in the promotional image and 2) its beak-like mouth seems too small - as opposed to the enormous, toothed maw in the teaser video.
I also don't think it is a kraken, for multiple reasons, but I think the skeletons are all over these places because of the kraken.
I could be wrong, of course!
