Fix players spawning in AFTER their ship has sunk.

  • This is a problem for those that are trying to sink a ship, and those who have been sunk.

For those who have sunk the ship that hostile player who spawns in on a already sunken ship has nothing to lose, and if they manage to kill you then your ship is as good as gone too. Too many times have i sunk a ship and they magically appear in the middle of the ocean and manage to board my ship and blunderbuss me at the wheel, because i thought they were already dead or gone.

Now for the person who has had their ship sunk, this could also be the reverse. They spawn in with no ship and no reason to live anymore, so they just have to go through the process of respawning all over again. Yeah it could be fun if you manage to board a sloop and kill the captain. But if your facing a 3-4 man galleon, then your chances are very slim.

I know this is related to connectivity to the server, but it should be that the second your ship goes underwater, you respawn at the new ship. Even if it takes that extra 10-20 seconds in the loading screen. Because at least you dont have that suspense of if your ship is gone or not.

    Thanks for reading!

  • Well if you’re a pc player saying this then I will be angry as pc players are much faster at spawning then Xbox players. Spawning should be the same time for all platforms then I would strongly support you on this.

Or...or and now bear with me, or pay attention.

Sail off a little bit and let the sharks finish them. Bait them on the ship and blast them off the ladder.

You know you need to watch the mermaid for respawns, so why don't you?

Also I believe this occurs while the ship is sunk, but still exsists in the game world. Once the ship despawns, it seems like you end up at the new ship spawn. I always know when we have sunk, because the respawn does take an additional 10-15 seconds.

Once upon a time this used to be true. Not anymore.
Enemy mermaids tend to linger long after a crew and their ship sinks. I know this because this happened on several occasions and though my crew are efficient at leaving no survivors, the mermaid would still linger for 5 mins before despawning.

  • @ser-pineapples I know, but you also know you are due for one more round of respawns.

Mermaid stays as long as they are on the ferry of the damned

  • @brit-churchill Not true. I'm on PC and I've tested this with an Xbox player. We went through the door at the same time and spawned in at the same time.
