Looks really good, should appeal to all the Die-Hard PvP's.
Coming at the end of the year.
Piracy and Naval Warfare game on the Horizon... later this year... ( now delayed )

@piratecraggy being a pirate vs being a ship. Make your choose wisely
Very true... will be great to see a game with a different take on the whole "Pirate Life" Looks fun.
@solkian19
Agreed .... not at all the same game.
But it's good that there will be something different.@jereffuse
Assassin's Creed Origins, Far Cry 5, I personally have enjoyed these.... Agreed, probably like any game best to wait & see.@piratecraggy Well as for me FC5 is not finished I won't call this a game Ok for origins it was fine even with the defaults
Man... If sea of theives looked like this we would have a perfect game...
If ubisoft made this more like sea of theives with treasure huntinf and first person pvp sea of theives would be in trouble. Looks amazing and i loved black flag..only downside to me on thia is it appearing to be strict naval combat only. All the pvp ppl playing sea of theives may jump ship for this though it doea look really good if all you want is ship battles all dayI remain tentatively interested in this. It looks gorgeous, built on Black Flag mechanics, first major title from Ubisoft Singapore, so it'll be interesting to see a relatively new studio try something like this.
But it is still Ubisoft, and boy do those guys have the unique ability to ruin their own games, in the most creative ways possible. I personally wasn't a fan of the naval combat mechanics in Black Flag either, it was just too over the top, downright silly, how fast and how much damage you could push out of that tiny lil' ship. There's no weight or impact behind a broadside, really ruins the experience. It feels like revving a Ferrari, but no sound comes out of the exhaust.
But there will be a lot of interesting aspects, like a Story Mode, customizable Captains (one of the developers recently gave cryptic hints about how much freedom we'll actually have, i.e. we won't always exist only as our ship), and of course a Kraken.
@piratecraggy
I did enjoy the sailing around in Black Flag as a side thing. In AC:Origins I really disliked the ship combat parts.
I'm sure there's people looking for this kind of ship action game, but I'm not one of them.@fishst1ck
You are absolutely right.... it won't be everyones cup of tea.
To be honest I am more intrigued by the idea, I may give it go when it's released. If I like it, I'll play it, if not... there are other games I am pretty fond of.@fishst1ck said in Piracy and Naval Warfare game on the Horizon... later this year:

@ve111a
Difference was that on AC:Black Flag you could actually board the other ship and start attacking the crew, which is something I liked. On AC:Origins it was very static, just a behind the captain view and some arrows where your cannonballs or arrows would fly. It just felt really forced in, in my opinion.I see some people complaining about Ubisoft btw, but people should look at how Ubisoft is supporting their games after release. Rainbow Six Siege, The Division, For Honor and Wild Lands, all games with quite a rough launch that had loads of problems but due to the excellent support and updates they're all still doing quite well.

Yea the are good at updates and weekly/monthly content events as well. I'm gonna hold off judgement until I personally play it and see I mean you can't really go wrong buying ANOTHER pirate game. lol, Aside from the ones I did and never played again lol.
@fishst1ck I only ever played For Honor of the titles you mentioned, but while the continued support was greatly appreciated, the direction of the game kept moving down a road a lot of players didn't enjoy, despite repeated protests and suggestions.
I used to be quite active on the For Honor forums, and a few months ago there was a significant exodus of high profile members there who couldn't take the changes being made to the game any longer.
Post launch support is great for all Ubisoft titles, but that's not the same as all the updates, patches and new Seasons being any good.
@fishst1ck Certainly a niche game, but it's great fun. Less so now than it used to be, but still attracts a good crowd.
@piratecraggy I don't know about game play, but the system sounds like everything that this game is not with it's pirate rep and bounty system. I like the rpg element, as that would set you apart better than loot, or combine both. I really like that your time and money go to upgrades and making your game better and easier rather than cosmetic stuff that appeal to the average 14 year old girl...and lots of modern games i see.
Well I wouldn't necessarily say one system "is better than the other" myself, a different game.... with different dynamics. It will have a place....
@fishst1ck I agree with Siege. I'm an avid siege fan and have played that more than a healthy amount since launch. It was RIDDLED with bugs and especially server issues for their ranked playlists for the better part of their entire first season. The game has an awesome replay value though and yes it's gotten much better. The Division....not so much. A classic example of not delivering enough content quickly enough and now a lot of those server are (relative to what they were at/after launch) ghost towns. For Honor was awesome for a bit until people figured out how to cheese roll stab you and that kinda killed that one for me right there.
**Edit: **Siege also did it right when it came to upgrades. You could buy skins for guns and characters as well as attachments for guns (sights, barrel attachments, grips, etc...) None of these altered the gun drastically but better suited it for your individual style of play. Something like that could do well on SoT as well...of course weapon attachments in the 17th century weren't quite what they are today so I don't know what that would look like exactly.
@piratecraggy the game does look very good but it is a pirate ship game not necessarily a pirate game it's more like Assassin's Creed Black Flag without the Assassin's Creed LOL sea of Thieves is unlike any other game any of us had ever played before when someone ask you what game is like Sea of thieves everyone has the same answer there is no other game like it I am very enthusiastic about skull and bones but there will never be a game like sea a thieves because you can actually be a pirate not just a pirate ship
@piratecraggy The same like black flag and nothing else. I enjoy this more where it is more pirate orientated, not just the ship. This game has had its problems but I am sure it will be resolved. No comparison!
