Auto Camera while adjusting sails needs to be fixed.

  • When raising and lowering sails my camera always auto aims to the sky. This is counterproductive as when i'm raising or lowering I'm usually looking at land so i can adjust my speed for docking etc.

When adjusting angle of sails my camera auto aims ahead and not at the telltale (flag). Adjusting angle of sail happens when underway so I want to see the wind.

Either reverse these auto-aim mechanics or give us an option that can be adjusted in settings please. It's extremely frustrating.

This is on Sloop, don't sail a galleon enough to know if it's the same on both, I can only assume.

  • You can manually turn your head left and right while working the sails.

Though your right. I do wonder if it's necessary at all. Just give us the freedom to look wherever we want.

  • @m1sterpunch Strange, I don't think this happens on PC when using a mouse, but I did notice it while I was using a controller. I think that if this is a feature on Xbox, you should be allowed to disable it as it can probably be annoying.

  • @drglitch I'm on PC as well but usually play with a controller (blasphemy I know) and there's no way to disable that I know of...

Yes but the bouncing back is terribly annoying. An option to be able to turn this off would be a godsend.

  • The issue is that on controller the view is linked to the position of the analog stick. so when you release the stick you get returned to a fixed initial view point set by the system. If mouse had this function then whomever was using a mouse would have to constantly keep their mouse in motion to view a specific point. I do agree that the "fixed viewpoint" needs to be removed.

  • 100% agree. If it auto camera adjusts initially that would be fine for me.
