Fix The Audio Problems!

  • So I came back, game pass was on sale so figured I might as well waste a quid and see if this game is out of devolopmet yet and worthy of being a full release, and still my voice chat is buggy as hell I can see icons above peoples heads but no sound comes out of them and no one can hear me either! please RARE just give us the option the pick the device in the audio settings and give us a little level meter so we can see it if its working! mind alteast the game managed to keep my keybinding this time round so thank you for that.... also a icon ingame to say we are broadcasting would be great! In a game defined by its team work to not have this very basic thing working is an absolute disgrace! not to mention closing my previous thread the other month....
Glad it was only a quid I wasted 2nd chance wont be fooled a 3rd so please sort your c**p out fast its not bloody hard and this is really basic stuff....

  • what you should really do though is dump this windows10 and xbox only nonsense and get a real player base with VOIP that actually works...

  • @theskunkymonk did you try solutions in here:

  • @sir-lotus yes yes I did that the first time I tried this game out.... I'm betting it is some c**p todo with sample rates, external cards and really c**p xbox on windows [Mod edited]...

  • @TheSkunkyMonk Please refrain from swearing on our forums, as it is a violation of our Forum rules. We have edited your post accordingly.

  • @theskunkymonk you also wanna check out your security suite as I know mine used to block the audio coming from SoT. It meant I could see everyone’s speech bubble working but I couldn’t hear them and they couldn’t hear me. After I allowed it I’ve not had a problem.

  • @lady-aijou if you didn't release buggy as [Mod edited] software then I wouldn't need to....

  • For the past three weeks I've been fortunate enough to regularly play with the same person and for the most part we can hear each other okay.
As soon as someone else gets thrown into the mix it's an on going audio tweak fest to get the whole crew's communication synchronized. Even then it usually fails.

The most common issue I have found with the game voice chat, when it does decide to work, is a delay of up to several minutes. Ask a question then wait five minutes for the reply. That is no exaggeration.
This even happens with others in the same country as I. Then, over a period of time, it somehow gradually draws closer to real time speech.
That could take more than 10 minutes though and by that time we've moved on thinking that there is no use playing with that person if we can't hear each other.

Another issue is volume for an individual. Someone who you can normally hear well is suddenly so faint that the game's sound effects over-power their voice. If you turn that down then you risk not hearing someone swimming to your ladders or even cannon fire for that matter.

The Xbox app "party chat" is usually much better but not without its flaws too.
High pitched feedback, white noise and ECHO, echo echo are common even though everyone are using headsets. Go figure.

It's pretty sad when the biggest enjoyment of the game depends on voice chat working at 100% or not.
