Major drop in players playing
Lol, going back to the achievements % I'm confused. If it has a low % because of the black out 2 weeks, then those players have not come back to either get the retrospective count or have not come back and done them again, so they must be not playing. If it includes downloads that have had been played, they those players are not playing. If it's due to slower player progression from casual players, ( not sure how casual you need to be to not even eat a banana), then they are hardly playing. If it's down to gamepass players that only had 2 week access, guess what, they are now not playing. If there are lots of people still playing the achievement % will go up, the only reason it won't is due to non activity. I don't see how it can be interpreted as being a bad way to gauge activity. Yes there are a group of die hard that still play that won't effect the % because they have already done them, but everyone else new or old still need to hit the criteria for them to pop. No pop = no play. Unless you stat analysis experts ( i see there are a lot on here 😁) think otherwise?
@impeached-trump It's your gamertag. If I see you in a session I join, I will for sure leave it. Also I'm playing daily, even tho I got legend rank already. Its easy to find a good crew with the XBoX LFG or Discord. Queuing is not the right way to play.
@lobane
I still think that it's crazy not even a 10% of the playerbase has purchased an eye of reach, or hasn't logged in after the first couple weeks (to get their achievement). There is a 1 GOLD eye of reach right now, if they haven't purchased it, they aren't playing. And that 9% is a generous percentage of how many people are actually continuously playing the game right now if you have in mind that players that own the game but aren't playing it anymore could have logged in just to get the limited time item and leave (like I did).People that can't see this is bad for a game that NEEDS players to stay afloat are just in denial. This is not a single player game where the only important number is how many people purchase it, this is a game as a service, it doesn't matter how many people purchased it if no one is playing it after a couple months then the game is dead.
@ollieoxenfree dont mind this guy, hes the same guy who thought the player count plummeted by twitch viewing habits on the game

This is all Fake News by people that want the game to die because they don't like PVP. As soon as the PVE only players are weeded out we can move forward with the core and enjoy the game as it was intended to be. I have yet to experience an empty server.
& here is one of the main reasons the game will fail!
People with absolutely no understanding of what the game actually is & are just intent on forcing their playstyle as the correct one!
Show me all the advertising, marketing, rewards & achievements for PVP, oh that's right, there aren't any because this isn't a pvp based game.I haven't played in almost a week. Kinda sad because I was really enjoying this game.
Got to lvl 30 with all the factions then the grind slowed to absolute crawl. Reached a point where grinding voyages was hours of boredom for no significant increase in rep.
Skull forts became an exhausting exercise in fighting skeletons for 20 mins then running from the 3 other galleon trying to catch us off guard loading the loot. Then running away for 3 hrs.
The combat advantages PC players make trying to fight them off a futile task.
Or you manage to escape only to have a Kraken hold you while they regroup around you and b******u out of the water.
Tired of playing for hours on end and making next to no progress.
Only 2 things I can suggest:- Allow us to turn crossplay off. Even if there isn't an advantage (which there totally is and every other cross-platform game acknowledges it) It would go a long way to make players at least feel like they're not getting pushed around by someone who's spent 4-5×on their machine vs the cost of an xbox.
- I think everyone could get behind this one: Bonus Rep for completing voyages. That way if you go out and do a whole voyage, say a 3 chapter GHwith 4 riddles each chapter, and get robbed on your way to turn it in, you at least get something for your trouble. This doesn't happen often to me, but when it does it ruins the entire play session. As someone who works full time, that's all the free time I had for the day, down the drain.
Sorry I ranted a bit. I'm just a bit disheartened because I still want to play, but feel like it's just a waste of my limited amount of free time.

I personally like both. If you only like PVE so be it. If you only like PVP so be it. If you want one or other removed from the game you are in the wrong kind of game.

Oh no you're going to leave my session. Tell me it ain't so man. I'm going to feel so bad if one person leaves a session. Give me a break. Like I really care if you leave or not.
The game sets you up for disappointment a lot of the time tbh. It reallllllllly is annoying and leaves a bad taste in your mouth to lose a lot of stuff you spent a lot of time getting.
Like for instance doing a full skull fort for someone to come at the last second and sneak up on you, and then blow your boat up really fast.... I know thats part of the game, but people are gonna have a hard time wanting to play again after stuff like that.
People who I use to see playing this on my friends list no longer play this game anymore. Even my galleon crew decided they were bored of this game last night. Kind of makes me sad. I love this game but the list of friends who want to play it is hitting hit rock bottom quick. I do enjoy solo slooping luckily but it was nice playing with friends.
It's kind of nice actually.
Servers are ghost towns all week long.
The very few ships I see once every couple hours are too busy grinding out missions - so they don't attack.
I would say that we should see zero PvE - I want Single Player Mode - threads until the DLC drops and bring people back for a week :)
Seriously - this game is currently a ghost town - and I put many hours in and all times of the day. The weekend does get a little more action though.
Seems that way for my crew too and if we see a ship, it's usually a sloop. And at this point in runduntantness, we thrive on piracy. Maybe it's a good thing for everyone else that we dont see em. But for us, boring. We do legendary quests because they send us all over the map and we always keep an eye on the horizon. If we see a sloop, we usually go for the kill if it's close, but a galley well go as far as we have to out of the way to destroy it in Hope's of a good battle. Be nice if they incorporated the bounty system so daring crews could just come after US instead.
