AFK farming method exploit is ridiculous and unfair

  • As of today I have encountered a new form of AFK farming that is honestly really annoying and unfair to fellow crewmates. Someone will get their player killed, stay on the Ferry of the Damned, have a macro on PC that has an anti kick motion cycle (for the player I encountered it was move forward, back, jump, equip item, unequip, repeat). This allows a player to be unable from being kicked or locked in the brig. The player remains safe on the Ferry and gains the rewards from his crews hard work. My 3 man crew he was on cleared a Skull Fortress and got 13k or so in loot. And this player was rewarded for this AFK farm method from this. I have the players gamertag and I have video evidence. I would like to see him and all players exploiting the game like this stopped and punished. As players are unable to be kicked from crews there is nothing we can do about it. We could leave but when we had found out what he was doing it was too late as we had already begun the Skull Fortress. I just want this kind of stuff put to a stop. Please upvote to get the attention of those that would need to see this for action to be taken.

    Remove the gamertag m8.
Naming & shaming is not permitted on the forum.

  • @type2diabetess just send their gamertag to Rare by making a support ticket.

Those people are ruining the experience of everyone by taking a slot in our crew. I really don't care they got my rewards. But I don't know how Rare can deal with it, a kick option is really not the answer as it will be abuse for sure. I like to play with random, I enjoy the game to discover new people, but when you got 2 AFk it's really hard to manage a galleon in a battle or everything else. So I just sell my loot in this case and go to another server.

  • Always wondered about seeing people there. Seen afkers just doing circles as well. Don't know why you'd want to go afk mid voyage with loot on ship. Free loot for us.

  • @type2diabetess Had a similar story happen to me. Instead of rewarding his behavior though, we sailed into the middle of the ocean, and scuttled the ship. Then we quit. We can always make more money on our own, but leeches can't unless they have a host.

The good news: Private crews are coming next week. That means if a leech gets in, it's because you left the door open, instead of the situation now where there isn't really a door at all, so much as the server saying, "5 is above fire-code."

  • I honetly would've just sunk my ship and switch server. I would never want to share my rewards with someone like that no matter how hard I wordked for it. I'd rather go home empty than have done the dirty work for a s*****g creature like that.
This whole problem will luckily be solved to a dregree with private crews as soon as next week.

  • @crisp-the-fox we had a legendary voyage with two friends on our ship when we joined, a random joined too later the game, saw the legendary stuffs, killed is character and went AFk till the end. People go AFk during the night you know or when they can't play.

  • @logansdadtoo
Edited and GT removed. Thanks for the heads up.

  • @skulliah Think that is why I don't jump into random lobbies. If my friends aren't on I'll go it alone or play something else.

Think a lot of people over hype the legendary voyages. See a lot of looking for groups requesting them.

  • they dont give a c**p or it would not be an issue

  • @magnuskirkland

  • Hi @type2diabetess, if you have evidence that another was using a cheat or an exploit in Sea of Thieves, please log a ticket with our Player Support Team. Provide them with as much information as possible with what was happening, their gamertags and any video evidence you have. They will then open an investigation on this issue.

    Thank you!

    I'll be locking this thread.
