Now, I've been watching a lot of One Piece and the idea of this grand, dangerous sea where only the strongest pirates can hope to survive is so great that i would love to see it as a part of this game. Firstly the new area would be its own map but the way off getting there is by sailing beyond the map ww currently have at a specific point of the map. Just getting to this new sea would be incredibly challenging. The passage through the entry point would transition you from one server to another, and these new sea servers would be much smaller in number to force as many players together as possible into the space to make the area even more dangerous. The passage would be narrow, racked with horrible storms, sea monsters and dangerous rocks that require a skilled and disciplined crew to steer clear of, and even powerful currents that would drag your ship off course and smash you onto the rocks if you're not careful. The passage would be marked by a new island on the sea of thieves that would be the largest island on if ever. Perhaps five times the size of smugglers bay. It would have a port where you can dock your ships and resupply at the outpost there. The npcs would give you the basic run down of what's ahead. Only a few legendary crews have ever made it through the new world and entered the magical mist at the end returning to the sea of thieves. The compass does not work and the map is filled in as you progress instead of being charted already. The rest of the island would be dangerous jungle and ruins riddled with a dangerous series of caves. Skeletons, cannibal tribesmen, traps and maybe even other pirates could guard this part of the island. Why do you need to bother with exploring this give island? To cross into the new area in the first place, you'll need a special talisman that allows you to pass through the final obstacle, a shroud of mist that magically turns back all who enter. The talisman would be a hand held item acting similarly to the lantern in that if you raise it, it would shine a light to dispel the mist and let you pass into the new world. The new world would begin with your ship coming out of the storms and monsters to a small, peaceful island. There a small outpost would give you your last reprieve before the real challenges begin. Storms, whirlpools, Rouge waves, water cyclones can pop up near you randomly instead of moving around the map like on the sea of thieves. Unable to return (as the talisman you used to get her magically disappears in a flash of light after you exit the mist), the only way to leave is by finding it again in the new world. This would be done by following your compass. At each island there is a hidden alter, guarded by powerful enemies, traps or puzzles or all three. The alter must be activated, but once found and activated, the compass would point towards the next island in the chain that would eventually lead to you being able to exit the new world. With no outposts to turn in your loot or resupply, resources are scarce on this sea and all the treasure you find will equal out to a large horde. The islands are brimming with rare and exotic goods, treasures, and powerful Skeletons to drop their skulls (as well as loose skulls. Messages in bottles would provide riddles to dig up not only normal chests (castaway to the legendary chests) but special new world chests made by the original inhabitants of this sea to contain the cursed souls of those who cursed the sea itself (seperate lore you can find). With so much treasure, and so much danger, and so little resource, players who tracked down the alerts and finally found the talisman to make it back out would find themselves so burdened with loot and special items that they could be rightfully be called kings and queens. And of course this small, but densely packed map would see pvp like no where else. Ships running into each other would be so common that a battle with another crew could happen as often as every 10 minutes. And of course if you are sunk, you would respawn on the sea of thieves. From the beginning island everyone would be put on one of 4 paths to finding their talisman. They would have about 9 islsnds in each chain and each chain would intersect with the another at least twice to make sure pirates would run into each other. And to reiterate, even the islands are super dangerous with powerful enemies in large amounts. The final island, where all the chains end up going is on the far end of the map right next to the passage back to the sea of thieves is very dangerous and quite large. It is guarded by at least two krakens which are harder as they entangle the ship more and attack more often while having increased health. Inside the island you must hand completed the whole chain of altars before the altar on this island will activate for you. But you could also steal the talisman from another crew to get out. If your talisman is stolen you must start over your chain by going back to the starting island.
Very rough concept with me updating it based on feed back. Thoughts? Also I'm not expecting this to be implemented any time soon. Just would like to put it out there for the Devs to think about for one of their big content updates.
