  • @eggamer13 This diversification of items between outposts is really unnecessary and brings nothing better to the game. It's just an annoyance. Thank you for this.

I like it because it tells my that my home as a sea dog is to the north east :)

Some of us have been wanting diversification of items between outposts for a long time, so I guess opinions may vary.

  • @rattlyfob Mine its the admiral zone ;)

  • @erikinthebakery @GardenPT I like it. There's the sea dogs zone, the admirals zone and the sovereings zone.

  • I like it! Between the 3 areas of water that us pirates can populate, there is certainly a difference in character...

I like that the Sea Dogs seem to come from the more savage region- The Wilds (natch) - which suggests a more cutthroat kind of existence on the edge of civilisation... Literally, a hive of s**m & villainy...

Sovereign outfits suggest wealth & organisation- which suits the Sea of Plenty to a tee. I can see them cruising around in the blue waters, lording it up over everyone. The lore book says people are more friendly there- so maybe a bit more order has an affect on people's personalities there?

I like that the Bilge Rats seem to be scavengers & opportunists- which suggests living on the underbelly of the wealthier area of the Sea of Plenty, & being more like tomb raiders & explorers in the Ancient Isles (which Rare have said were inspired by Indiana Jones...)

Overall, if it gets players travelling around the map a bit more to go & buy the stuff that they want, then I'm all for it! Sail, explore, make the effort! I can see weekly events appearing in the future where Nobby the store owner at so-&-so outpost has miraculously received a shipment of a ridiculously rare & exclusive 'something', which is available for a short space of time... Cue ships coming from all corners of the SoT to purchase this thing before the window closes- much like the Day 1 Patch & the new Eye of Reach...

Plot & lore can be tied in to this, for those that follow it- & ultimately rewards the players who are bothered to put the effort in!

  • I wonder... will there be factions based on this division 🤔

  • @eggamer13 just a small typo: it's Golden Sands not Golden Sans

Changed the issue. I though it was Golden Sans because my pronunciation, but is golden sands xD

  • @eggamer13 Thanks for this overview!
The NE region really doesn't get a lot of the shipments, do they?
I only see the drawback in this change in the game at the point, where the outposts you have to reach for your favorite style can be occupied and you have to jump lobbies a couple of times to get your stuff.

On the other hand i expect the shops to look more sorted, it really was a lot of stuff at once until now, that didn't always help to find the right clothes.

Another little typo: Castaway blig rat and rotten blig rat - blig should be bilge, and Castaway bilge rat is listed twice.

  • I believe this post should be stickied and hope pirates will contribute "updates" to thread when changes are made in the game. It's nice to have a road map to our Piratey Shopping Malls.

And to speak toward the distribution of the trends:

I like it. Asides from the names and banners, it makes each region distinct. At first, I was scared certain items were discontinued, but if each region is depicted in a certain way, I like how the shops are starting to reflect that. PLUS, it forces us to be in our ships and explore more often.

  • I like the idea and any additions, even small are welcome.
If you could choose the outpost to start at and/or return to the outpost you logged off at. That might add a feeling of a "home" port.

  • @eggamer13
Going into this post I thought it was a complaint from someone that couldn't find his outfit. Since it's actually a useful post, you might want to change the title to something like: "Where to find specific outfits" and lose the ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.

Apart from that, good job it's a nice overview this way.

I disagree in the strongest terms. It adds variety to the outposts and gives us a tangible reason to explore the world and visit other regions.

  • Helpful post but what about the new ship and weapon customisations?

  • Could all of this be foreshadowing towards the new upcoming content? Difficulties in shipping?! What could be causing that? Are the things going on in the 'hungering depths' sending their first ripples out into the SoT?

Can we possibly expect new content to appear in future weekly updates to reinforce this idea? In which biome/ area will the issues manifest most, going forward?

Maybe the new area of the map (the 4th region introduced in Forsaken Shores) will join onto the side of The Wilds, & that is why they are experiencing the most 'issues'?

Or, this could all be my over-fertile imagination... ;D

  • Next time I see a pirate in his fancy Admiral's gear I'm gonna tell them "go back to the shore's o' plenty with yer fancy clothes, this here is sea dog territory ye lubber"

  • @boxcar-squidy Yes!!! I love this!!!

  • This also reduces the number of pieces you have to look through to find the one you are seeking. It was borderline chaotic imo.

It would be nice to have only a single vendor on the whole map having their type of clothing.

  • @eggamer13

I like that the Sea Dogs have their own special Outposts and that the others have to share. LOL

  • @themuckypaw sagte in WHERE ARE SPECIFIC OUTFITS:

They are also split up the same way, each outpost only has the specific styles for ships and weapons available as listed for the clothes. I forgot to check for the equipment, but i expect this will be area-specific too.

But the Launch Crew EoR should be available everywhere.

  • @themuckypaw Its the same. Where sovereing things are, sovereing ships are. Where admiral things are, admiral ships are.
