Proper etiquette when being joined into a twitch streamers lobby

    1. Allow said streamer to take control of the lobby, and Captain the Galleon.
    2. Try and discern orders as he/she ignores the crew and talks to their audience.
    3. Full sails towards your destination.
    4. Drink Grog.
    5. Refill Tankard at Keg on mid deck.
    6. Drink Grog.
    7. Repeat steps 4-6 until you are vomiting everywhere.
    8. Cover twitch streamer and their stream in bile.
    9. Use your bucket to catch some of the pirate puke.
    10. Throw that at the twitch streamer as well.
    11. Server hop and find a better lobby.

    1. Your stream isn't as entertaining as you think it is.
  • To be humble and remove names, I joined my first SoT streamer via random matchmaking a few days ago. I was immediately annoyed as I was basically told what to do and not do. At one point I was asked not to fight skeletons so that I wouldn’t block his vantage point as he fought them. I politely left the game. Uncool.

  • @xxxrookxxx Sounds anoying, i would have left to.. cant stand narcissists lol

  • The only people worse than streamers are the people who watch streamers. It's pitiful to be so hungry for attention, but I don't even have a word for the people who give that attention.

L**O. Well said. I was at first oh grog, here we go..... I hate streamers you are playing a game and recording yourself play we don't cater to you or inflating your narcissist Vanity.
I will never be told how to play or what to do you.

I'd have done exactly what he said except the opposite, If he's gonna be bossy humiliate him in front of his 4 viewers lol.

  • Twitch is [mod edited] like YouTube vloggers.

  • @gloog said in Proper etiquette when being joined into a twitch streamers lobby:

Twitch is cancer like YouTube vloggers.

When I was a kid I didn't watch other kids act a foul on camera playing video games, I just played them myself..... Esports and twitch are ruining the gaming industry not micro-transactions like people believe. Microtransactions put money directly back into the game. I'm the old majority clearly on this in South Park I'd be called Grandpa. I hate this new trend and watching kids emulate some of the horrible streamers that as time goes on they show their real colors with racist rants or just all around being horrible human beings, The moment started watching people do basic things like eating food and gaming, Is when society truly started to downfall in my eyes.

  • old person accent In my day I had to play the video games myself! If I wanted tips and tricks I had to subscribe to Nintendo Power... and even then I had to actually play the game to experience it (uphill both ways to and from the mailbox to get my magazine subscription, etc...)

Exactly. Lol I still have a massive collection of strategy guides dating back to 96/97 lol. Still have my FF7 guide on my bookshelf. That was the pre-internet way of finding out how to be a completionist.

What about sports shows? That's where you watch people play games!

I wasn't big on sports but even that has spiraled down the the depths of MMA now.

  • @ve111a True that!

  • seriously only because you are the streamer does not give you more rights then anyone else.

i always have been captain and that wont change.

  • How in the ... a twitch streamer has no friends and need to play with matchmaking?
And why would anyone take orders from a guy just because he's streaming?!

    Advice:
Find a crew for your streams before start playing...

  • @wkd1337 lol!

  • Nothing about this thread is ok.

Just because you don't approve of something, that doesn't excuse your own poor etiquette. Especially when that particular something doesn't affect you in the SLIGHTEST.

Shut up. Grow up. & let people enjoy things.

Being told how to change how I play because his stream is watching him affects my game play, not being able to captain affects my game play. Having to hear someone screaming in my ear to fake entertain kids on twitch REALLLLY affects my game play.

Please reference steps 4-6 as to what I consider to be proper etiquette when handling any type of awkward situation you may find yourself in upon the sea!

  • @ve111a Choosing to stay in that game is your own choice. Nobody forced you to do anything. You may as well rub a pile of d**g on your face and complain about the smell.

Apples to oranges? Why should I have to leave If I joined or he joined? What If I have loot? So by that logic you are ok with people joining randomly and dropping your vicious skulls off the edge of your ship, You can leave tho if you stay you decided to so it's your fault? no.

  • @ve111a No, because streamers don't stream JUST to annoy you.

Would you stay with a crew that all spoke a language you're not fluent in?
Would you stay with a crew that wanted to do skull forts even though they're awful at PvP?
Would you stay with a crew that locked you in the brig for literally no reason?
No, of course you wouldn't. So how is peacefully leaving a streamer's game any different?

"Reacting to a streamer" is not an excuse to act like a troll. Either you are a troll, or you are not a troll.

  • @deliciouspack Yes, to answer all three of your rhetorical questions.

I would lead those Pepe Lepews on a fantastic voyage!
I would lead those skull fort chasing newbs to victory!
I would lead an amazing orchestra of drunk shanties in that brig.
And I would also peacefully leave a streamers lobby. After, of course, consuming some grog! ;)

an' so we reach the bottom o the apple barrel and national stereotyping. bravo to you sir.

  • Clearly never read the 'Guybrush proper etiquette when being joined into a twitch streamers lobby' manual ...

    1. Provoke a mutiny.
    2. ?
    3. Profit.
  • Streamer etiquette continued..

    1. Stop jumping back and forth, the entire length of the ship, from bow to stern. That is NOT entertaining!
  • Brig the streamer and leave.

  • Personally? I brig streamers til they leave. Nothing really against you if you are one. I just find you insufferably annoying. Especially if you drop into my game and immediately try to captain. Or expect us to do everything you and your... fans... want us to do.

I am a grown man that won't have a vain child telling me what to do and how to play, plain and simple If I encountered that I wouldn't stand for it. The problem isn't with me it's with them in that situation.

I have stayed in the brig if there was treasure, YUP! If you brig me for some stupid reason like you want a friend in now to reap the rewards instead of me? no.

I would stay with a group of foreign language speakers, because 1, I'm not a racist. 2 I speak multiple languages.

BRING ON THE SKULL FORTS, I can carry people enough if they can listen to direction we can clear it easy enough.

  • Tip #1: just hit broadcast....now you are a streamer too...sooooo...they should leave? both leave? make the entirety of the server leave? haha

They will be asking for 'Streamer Only' servers soon :D

  • @wkd1337 stupidest, most narcissistic single post I think I’ve ever read🤣

nm: I read the entirety, well played, I hate streamers too🙃

you sound like the kind of embarrassing person who walks up on a news person doing an interview in public and makes a fool of themselves on tv.
