Is the Blunderbuss broken?

  • Does anyone else feel the blunderbuss is too inconsistent to be worth using since Rare tinkered with it? I can list so many examples of it simply not doing the job it once did.

    • Swam up to a guy getting supplies from a barrel. Shot him point blank, reloaded, shot him again as he scrambled, sliced him twice with sword. Nothing.

    • A guy boards our ship without me noticing. Walks right up to me and blasts me with his blunder. It blows me off the ship yet a still have a little over half health.

    I have so many more instances just like those.

    Is this just a case of me not adjusting to their adjustments or does anyone else find the blunder now wildly inconsistent?

  • The guns in this game seem a little wonky all around. I've shot people with a flintlock 4 times in a row, hitmarker every time, and they still don't die. It must have something to do with server lag because I've even shot people and gotten hitmarkers, yet they say that they're not getting hit. (and bash me for having s**t aim 😒)... just another bug that needs fixing...

  • The BB has different spread when you use ads vs hipfiring. The ads spread is much narrower, whereas the hipfiring spread is super wide, so if you hipfire from point blank you could still miss some pellets.

  • Don't think it's inconsistent, you have to be close and hit the chest to make sure as many bullets as possible hit the target. I think it's kind of OP.. Or the other weapons might be underpowered because i hardly ever use the flintlock, and i absolutely hate sniping in this game xD

    You have to be really really close to kill with it now. It's still good, but not in every situation. I use it while boarding enemies or defending our ship. Other times I go with pistol.

    Might be issue with hitboxes, I think they have normalized hitboxes, so aiming center of the body is best. Lag could be a factor too, as you said.

    i noticed the same thing...i dont use it anymore
