@reluctantdragon said in why are pc players soo OP:
Xbox / pc should have never happened. I too have had experience of obviously hacked and modded players. This was always going to happen, the pc world is rife with this kind of behaviour. In my experience most Players with hardly any gamerscore (under 1000) are pc players and couldn't give a toss about playing fair, abiding by the rules or the camaraderie xbox players have. A level playing field is never going to happen. I'm not saying all pc players are like this, but there is a lot.
I'm willing to bet your "Obviously hackers" experiences are more likely linked to false perceptions.
Rife? Really? yes, PC is "the" hacker platform. It's easier to apply hacks, and the platform is the "mother" of all gaming technology, consoles are simply another type of PC though the hardware package seems to reduce application of software designed to "break a game". So I can't ague that if you find a 'hacker' they are usually on PC.
As a matter of note I am a PC gamer. Yet my gamerscore is pretty close to 51k on Blooddoll22 my primary account. (an insignificant amount over that). This being my primary account, I have 7 accounts. Some inherited from my children and used by me to maintain save files etc. I'm curious how much higher it'd be if I combined them all?
Give a toss about playing fair? Playing fair, playing nice, and generally just having a good time despite "progress" are hallmarks of my interests. My social presence is minor, I barely invest in most social media relations to gaming. But I do join "clans", "guilds", "Forums", etc. I advocate for peaceful social areas in the game, try to "help the little guy", tend to leave other players to chill and have fun, and more. To suggest that "because I am on the PC" that I'm some elitist n*********l who tries to curb all advantages in my direction, is patently incorrect.
Camaraderie? Ask anyone I sail with Camaraderie is my lifeblood. My self proclaimed mission in life is to assure my friends have fun in the game, regardless of any costs to my benefit. I've wasted hours in the game, screwing off, and "wasting time", all in the spirit of chatting and hanging out with friends. Interestingly always with PC gamers, but I'm sure that's happenstance.
"Not saying all PC gamers are like thus but".... Yes you are. Your just trying to protect your bias under the aegis of "experiential commentary".
The advantages I have as a PC player on an Alienware with a (getting a bit old I should upgrade) 1070 are imo thus:
My graphics are better.
I feel I have a potential for incredible mouse sensitivity.
I tend to react faster to input keys vs controller button presses.
My load times are often atrocious, as it seems everyone's are. I get "black screen" loading after using the ferry as does everyone else, and sometimes my Xbox pals seem to load in faster than me. It doesn't seem consistent across the board for anyone regardless of platform.
Everything else has in my experience been, pretty well even. I agree inputs and reaction times are more sensitive on PC. That will always remain a fact.
But the rest? Not much of a difference. Hell, my buddy is on PC and complains all the time about his slow loading, inaccuracy of his key presses, inability to PvP for squat, poor resolution issues, darkness and inability to see a damn thing, framerates, and more. My wife only draws in 30 fps on her PC?
It's the player that truly sets the difference.
And "obvious hacks"?
Videos or it never happened. Much like another thread elsewhere on the forum that showcases a "He's a hacker" anecdote. Only to have the twitch gamer ON XBOX (Or at least the video showed xbox inputs - hence my presumption) show exactly how wrong this player was.
