New item suggest - Scotch eyed Auger.

  • A small metal object for slowly drilling holes in things.

Swim up to a ship that's stationary(or stand inside) and drill a hole in it's hull.
    It would be very slow
    It would be very noisy
It couldn't be used externally on a moving vessel
The driller would be extremely vulnerable
    The noise could attract sharks
It would let water in half as quickly as the current holes do.

  • Why?

Seriously, I'm not trying to be an a****e or anything, but what would be the point of this? Really, if you just want to bother a docked ship, just fire a cannon at them.

I'd be more open to a boarding axe/pike that does hull damage then a drill lol.

I thought this fitted in more with the cartoon nature of the game - Or perhaps a hole saw. Narrowly avoiding drowning whilst sneakily punching a hole in a ship. Hacking a way with an axe lacks elegance.

They may have sunk you and you are marooned on an island looking for revenge. Or find yourself a stowaway with no gunpowder barrels.

  • Why can't you do it while the ship is moving?

I think it'd be OP then - plus you can swim and drill at the same time, nothing to hang on to. If you're inside the ship then sure.

I can charge a sword dash and travel faster then a ship or throw up into a bucket and douse my captain in puke and we are worried about elegance?

  • @mmountain That makes sense. I was under the impression that you didn't want it to be used on a moving ship at all.

LOL - the puke is funny, the sword dash swim is (AFAIK) an unintentional "feature".

I can see how you would think that.

  • @greaseman85 Because if you board a ship and defeat its crew and have no powder keg there is nothing you can do to sink it

  • @mmountain what if you are inside the ship fool?

  • @dustlessboot said in New item suggest - Scotch eyed Auger.:

@mmountain what if you are inside the ship fool?

That's why a boarding axe is a good idea, Use that inside the ship to punch a hole very slowly, Make it take twice the time it does to board it up.

This part makes sense. There should be some method to sink a ship when you're on it and undisturbed, beyond piloting it into the rocks or gunpowder.

    Fool? Get some manners.

Swim up to a ship that's stationary(or stand inside) and drill a hole in it's hull.

  • @dustlessboot kill them until they scuttle

Spawn camping is a bad game mechanic.
