Have ye ever heard th' tale o' ole Cork Bark th' Blue? (short fan fiction)

  • I never actually thought th' tales were true. Th' one o' ole Corkbark th' Blue.

    ‘Til me ship ran a shore on an island unmapped. New fer me to explore, fer here I be trapped.

    Thar wasn’t much to see o' land up above, but below th' surface was Poseidon’s labor o' love.

    Ole ship wrecks t' pillage 'n fish a plenty, If corals wer gold I’d have ten chests maybe twenty.

    A joyous 'n adventure filled day to say th' least, 'til I stumbled across th' home o' th' beast.

    Th' tale goes ole Corkbark was born blue. Nothin like th' other sea beasts, fer he was th' wrong hue.
    Not only that, he had an air pocket within. It always brought em to th' surface, fer 'twas built in.
    Day in 'n day out he tried wit' all his might, to join his hearties 'n family fer fun each late night.
    Sittin' in th' dark ole Corkbark would s*b, 'til his mother Betty th' Bitter would sing em a song.

    One o' a blue hero fer sea beasts alike, whose air pocket was stunnin' 'n let em take flight.
    Fer he was th' watcher o' his home 'n all sea life, 'til th' day through th' water a ship cut like a knife.
    He whaled out a cry to warn all th' others, but 'twas too late they got his sisters 'n brothers.
    One ship turned to five in th' dark night, Lanterns ablaze a sea monsters worst sight.

    Corkbarks mother told em to hurry 'n go, Th' secret spot fer shelter that no one would know.
    Fer his blue hide worked out jus' right, same color as th' water he went unseen in th' night.
    Th' waves were high 'n strong from ther ships, it made fer a tough journey but wasn’t a long trip.
    Th' secret spot was shallow perfect fer ole Corkbark, he used his air to navigate th' shallows, but 'twas too dark.

    A wave grabbed hold o' em when he entered th' trench, pushed em to coral 'n into em it went.
    Injured 'n scared he started to descend. Air leaked out o' em, his floatin' would end.
    He gave out a cry so his mama would hear. Fer what happened to her child was her worst fear.
    Excited 'n in pain it quickly turned into fright. Fer he was never taught ta swim, he sank in moonlight.

    Some say Betty th’ Bitter was able to get away, demolishin' ships fer revenge in her bay.
    She still goes unvanquished, devourin' ships in heaps. If yer lookin' fer a challenge, find her in Th' Hungerin' Deep.

    Decided to make a story for one of the unmapped islands giving it some character. Tied it in with theories about the new DLC. I might make more on the other secret islands. Thanks for reading!
