So let me tell you the tale of the worst kind of pirates, The hyena pirates. We were off doing our thing on a mission sunk a few ships no big d. As we were engaging and sinking a ship here comes this other Galleon to take advantage of the situation of us in a weakened state trying to attack us, We repelled them and made them anchor to repair. They tried everything to sink us, Barrels, Boarding, Sniping we weren't having it they were not very good Everytime I boarded I killed at least 2 and dropped the anchor. However it was a long voyage and the 3 ships we fought back to back left us short of supplies, Not even a treasure chest on board. So then Hyena pursues again, We have 1 cannonball to our name and then the seas grow black. Sure the game could've punished the hyenas, picking at the carcasses of fresh kills but it wanted to go after us, The battered and bruised sailors. We engaged the Kraken and the hyenas circled the black cirle attacking us with cannon balls, We fought of the kraken with only pistols and snipers something I did not know was possible, In the end we made it to the edge the hyenas were boarding we had one eaten by the Kraken one trying to board them for some reason and one repairing a lost cause. All in all it's good to know I can defeat a kraken without wasting cannonballs however I hate those type of pirates the worst, The one that rely on opportunity and other people instead of skill.
Hyena pirates
Honestly, that sounds amazing. I wish I could see that much action every time I play, but the game is completely empty 90% of the time, I've gone 5 hours without seeing another ship. Player interaction, hostile or not, is 1000 times more fun than digging up garbage chests and killing the same 5 types of skeletons over and over.
It sucks losing loot, but the thrill of trying to outwit other crews is where all of the fun is in this game, and when you have a lot of goodies aboard, it makes it even more exciting.
This isn't even close to how it actually went, but I will say the best part was the kraken attack at that particular time. Quite frankly we've attacked plenty of galleons being attacked by the kraken, so to attempt to use that as some sort of insult to their ability is kind of silly.
Anyway, MRW you're being chased by a galleon, have 2 cannonballs on the entire ship and a kraken attacks:

no the fact that when even i boarded they died is the insult to their ability and the only reason the effectively sunk us was due to the kraken, we were gone lol.

That is so weird.. Since the launch i had not a single session that i didn't see another ship.
For the last week we had multiple sessions where we were fighting with 2 or 3 other crews@sugarwoif said in Hyena pirates:
