Gold amounts/Exp Grinding

  • Let's start off with saying, has anyone else noticed the crazy low amount of gold gained from chests and skulls now? Every captain used to give a almost 1k+ and a villainous would give the same.
    Now? Barely even 700. Doesn't seem like much, but it adds up fast.
    Everything seems to be worth a lot less, which is disheartening for me, because I would like to buy a bunch of ship parts when they add more.

    Secondly the Exp grind, holy cow, its so tedious.
    Im only 31/31/21 and Im sitting here grinding my teeth because the big chests/skulls dont add much to the progression bars/circles. Im always 1-3 pixels away from leveling up, after a hard days of non stop getting loot.
    Will Rare readjust the loot cashout? Possibly make the grind less tedious with the update? Buff the exp we get?
    What does everyone else feel about this, or know?

  • 44,42,42. It slows down a little more after 40. The only one that seems to be moving decently is merchants and that's only if there is luck with a golden animal.

    Skull forts help to, but even the stronghold items give a little less than a 1/6 of progress.

    Gold wise though I've hit over 1 million, nothing seems worth spending the gold.

  • @onyx-wartooth I have not found that the payouts have gotten lower.

    I do find however that I quickly stopped caring about chest or skulls below a particular value. this partly due to the coin, partly due to the low rep gain. A seafarers chest? not even worth picking up. It's been only 3 weeks since i got the game and i'm at rep lvl early twenties which is not that much. Feels a bit early to only care about the most high value loot, but that is what happened.

  • @dash-lee-rowan That has happened, seafarers and castaways are not worth making the trip the a island (If we knew what chests, or skulls we were getting from the bounties) The rep grind is slow, and seems to run into a grinding halt after a certain level, were now youll spend several days to progress a level, and that to me isnt fun. 2 days at max for a single level, when theres a bunch of things to do, but as of now, theres only the 3 quests (4 if you included the blend for legend quests) and the fort. Hopefully this will be redone and reworked with the update.

  • It's Pokémon GO all over again, LOL. I dropped PoGO because the grind is real in it. Devs should have focused on badges like the original games did. Instead they went with a lowest quality skinner box move.

    The grind here, just like it is in PoGO, is a tedious bottlenecked number game implemented to make statistics look good when it comes to quality defined only by the length of time investment. Meaningless grind and absence of farming is what bloats games these days in favour of unreasonable investments.

    I hear ya. Although I'm in the mid to low 30s it took days to go from 31 to 32 then again from 32 to 33. Sometimes I swear the progression hadn't changed a single millimeter.

    But for Rare to change it now to an easier progression would make me feel robbed (again).

  • 1-42 is the same as 42-50 . So stop playing .

  • 26/25/19 I totally agree I played since launch but the grind is just too much for a solo player I think they should reajust the payouts or the prices of all the clothing
