Ammo Limit Upgrade.

  • I have done many order of souls quest and now i always get waves of nothing but gold guys with guns and then be stuck going back and forth to get ammo from the ship or an ammo box in that island. I thought of an idea to have an upgrade to hold more shots, for instance buy the first upgrade for about lets say 5,000 gold and you now have 6 bullets, and so on. 10 bullets seems like a good number to stop at. This shouldnt effect pvp much if you dont miss since there is always the reload speed. This might not be as much of a frustration that you always got to go back for ammo every min or so. What are your thoughts? Good idea or no?

    Thanks

  • Yea 5 is kind of weak. Upgrading capacity would be great!

  • There wont be any upgrades like that. The premise is anyone that just got the game today could go toe to toe with a legendary pirates. A day 1 person gets the same set of tools.

Consider using your ships cannons to do order of souls. Position the ship in such a way that can assist you. Yeah even after level 40 you can still use this method. Souls on islands that are up high etc can still be done. Drag the waves towards the shore if needed.

  • Probably best option should be a portable ammo crate you can obtain that holds 50 bullets or something that you can restock from the ship. It takes a couple of seconds to pick up and you find them on forts or something.

I just kite gold guys to the water when possible, makes them so much easier. If you can get them near your ship, they can all be taken out easily with canon fire as well, or sniping from the deck. They are terribly slow in the water, and the ai is poor, you can just sit out of range and take them out in seconds.

  • @eraaam I have done the cannon method many times but sometimes there not near a beach. But thanks

Sucks that there will not be any upgrades to this

  • waiting for the metal b******s to walk all the way to the shore when they are ON TOP OF THE SWISS ALPS is what i don't like. Time spent waiting next to an Island is a risk

  • I like this idea. Use in game currency to buy an increase to the ammo limit.

  • I would settle for a darned shovel that digs faster. Needing to dig like 10+ times just to reveal a castaway chest is almost insulting, lol

  • @mcsherlock good idea! Thanks

Aye i agree and having like 7 skeletons spawn aswell. I dont mind sometimes but there are times im in a hurry.

  • @cobra07102000 If anything, the upgrade shovels the Gold Hoarders sell you should boost the digging. Gives you a reason to keep buying the suckers.

  • @cobra07102000 The ammo crates already have handles on them. . Why not have/make it a portable ammo box to carry around. Would at least serve its purpose when doing Order of the souls.

  • Great, you can carry 10 Cannon Balls but only 5 für the Rifle .

    Amunition Belt would be great

As someone who boards.... A LOT. Ammo count is greatly affected by pvp, I have the option to sit below deck protecting the holes or run upstairs in the open to get ammo and lose my surprise and positioning. This would affect pvp and give players an edge if they know how to use it.

That's actually an idea worth posting in the suggestions forum. Finding an ammo crate like the other resources is reasonable.

  • Absolutely not. Strict upgrades are against RARE's principal design philosophy that people don't get raw mechanical or stat advantages for just spending more time in game. Everyone is on the same playing field stat-wise the minute they enter the game. The real differentiator is skill and experience.

  • @blam320 Yeah I figured as much. Only wish though cause skins is not enough interest for me. but am excited for more ships, pets, etc. Upgrades not that important to me in SOT game im fairly good its just an idea to kinda help in a way so you wouldnt have to go back and forth but an portable ammo box is a good idea.

Portable ammo boxes you can find in your ventures I'm fine with. Make them mechanically similar to crates of cannonballs and the like.

What would really be interesting is if Ammo's mechanics were changed, so it really did behave like a resource. Obviously this would be done far down the line.
