Crows Nest Buff for Snipers

  • I saw that there is a glitch while standing on the yard arm of the mast that you remain stable (ignoring the ship tilt as waves hit it) and can even glitch the first step of a riddle. As it stands the crows nest is only really used for keeping explosive barrels. I truly would love to see this part of the ship utilized more. If you didn't have to adjust your sights snipers might use it during battles and people would use it more to keep an eye out if it eliminated that wobble. Also having someone up there when approaching an island would be an advantage as getting that first clue could represent having keen eyes from the crows nest.

  • @sandmanbakery lets get an ammo box up there

  • Hmm interesting, I'm not sure about the ideas listed but I would like to see a bonus to using the crowd nest more. When not shackled to the wheel, like Sisyphus bound to hell. I enjoy being in the crowd nest it's my favorite spot, it does come with its own innate bonuses, but would like to see it expanded some how.

Like the innate power of ending the PvE-only server debate?

  • @gloog very true, I can ships from plenty far away while in the nest. If we wanna run we run, if we fight we're ready for an.

  • That would be cool, though i heard they might be putting in portable ammo crates with limited reloads so that might be good for that as well

  • Should be easier to keep steady on the ship overall. I don't get why seasoned sailors suddenly lose their footing when looking through a spyglass or scope.

  • I would like to see Rare add a ammo box in the crows nest. I think this would be awesome

  • I would be okay with the ship wobble if it was on the rest of the ship. it would give a reason to be a sharp shooter in a crow's nest. And the inaccuracy of shots from the deck between crews at sea is very cinematic. we were neck and neck with this other crew and firing at each other cus the cannons were too close and it was awesome to see the bullets flying and hear the constant shots going off. A crow's nest sniper could change that battle real quick, but at the same time be taken out quickly from the other crow's nest.

  • The crows nest is actually where the ship movement would affect you the most, I would like the spyglass to be switched to left trigger to aim, and have a secondary use with RT like most
Other items, that slightly zooms and stabilizes your view.

  • While you are right, im suspending reality for the sake of gameplay. The crow's nest is almost never used for it's purpose of keeping an eye out, and calling out directions to the helmsman. The stability for spyglass and eye of reach would give you a good reason to go up there. That's what I'm trying to argue
