What's you favorite kind of Voyage?

  • What's your favorite kind of voyage & Why?
I personally like the souls because of the money.

  • Message in a bottle, the ones with the riddles leading to a chest.

I also like to dive on the wrecks, I just wish we had more variety, a few wrecked Sloops instead of all Galleons...

  • Riddle treasure maps for sure. Even if the payout is lousy I usually enjoy the hunt. I wish they would make the actual island you need as part of the riddle just to add that additional solving element.

For the most part I am a ship wreck scavenger. I like the crates of goods and just the general grab bag feel of finding a wreck. Never know what you'll get. Would be nice to see a variety the ship styles and whatnot tho.

  • I have answered this on another thread before but happy to recite as I find it a fun questions and I always get intrigued by other pirates and their response. We are all different after all!

If I ranked them 1-3, 1 being my favorite they would be as follows.

    1. Gold Hoarders
    2. Order of Souls
    3. Merchant Alliance

My reasoning? Merchant Alliance missions are just to much of a pain for me and hunting animals just doesn't feel rewarding. I get my rep by collecting cages after posting a merchant voyage then canceling. I then randomly steal chickens from Islands as they don't need fed (pigs......ughhhh). I also am not crazy about the Merchant specific cosmetics. Order of souls has my favorite cosmetics by far, and I just really like the shops. That said, after you level up a bit in reputation this becomes quite the repetitious grind on voyages for them and frankly I am not great at the PvE mechanics. Gold Hoarders has some pretty cool cosmetics, but the way their voyages unfold are the most engaging and immersive to me. Also, it is just rewarding and very "Pirate Like" to stash hoards of chests full of gold and talk in a pirate accent about your gold! Argggg!

  • Definitely gold hoarders for me. I just love racing with my crew to see who can find the spot on the map first and dig up the treasure. Clues are also fun but I wish they had more rewards.

Money = merchant alliance farming gold animals canceling quests etc etc you know the drill. (best inc per hour)
Souls = gallion party fun ok money but so random to be more then mediocer income at best compared to merchant. (least inc per hour)
Hoarders = pretty solid income tho still to random, best is to go for the high yield islands and cancel the like 1 x islands
pretty much same goes for 1x skeleton captains on islands for the souls quest aswell. time vs money to go to island and more often then not get 1 foul skull for the kills is just to random and Rare needs to do something about it, specially when it's a lvl 45+ voyage.

  • I would say "Order of the Souls", because you get more variety. I'm a lvl 43 Mystic Captain, so usually i'll get 6 maps each with 1-4 Captains to vanquish. It's nothing to have one voyage with 10 or so skulls to collect. The islands are split up pretty good allowing me to hit up several shipwrecks. With the shipwrecks and loot that washes ashore by the time I'm done with the voyage I have a good mix of everything, exoctic crates, chests, skulls, trinkets, and not to mention any extra maps we may collect from messages in bottles along the way.
My one voyage from last night ended at one o'clock this morning:
Me and a friend were slooping, we started an order of souls voyage and set sail. It was a 3 chapter quest, at some point during the second chapter a skull cloud appeared. We sailed to an outpost first to sell what we had already collected. We had a good amount, seeing how we hit up 3 shipwrecks during our voyage. Once everything was sold and we stocked up our ship again, we headed out towards the skull cloud. Luckily for us no other ships sailed by, so we were able to finish the fort with no interruptions. We took all the strong hold loot to an outpost, stopping at yet another shipwreck. With everything sold we decided to finish chapter 2 of our voyage. Chapter 3 only had one bounty, and with my friend getting tired we sold what we had so he could log off for the night. Being me, I had to finish the voyage we started. Once I reached the correct island I found a Captain's Chest washed ashore, and a random had joined me. Together we beat the captain and began our way to an outpost. We stopped at another shipwreck and found a message in a bottle. So instead of going to an outpost we set sail to get the hopefully last chest. As we were headed over we past by a sloop on a small island, I told my new shipmate to man the cannons and we sunk the small sloop before they could even pull anchor. That's when I noticed skeletons on the beach wearing bandanas. We finished of the other crews bounty earning us four more skulls. By the time we defeated the captains, the sloop had come back for revenge. After a not so long battle we sunk the sloop again and sailed off toward our last map. We got the treasure (a maurarders chest) just as the sloop showed up again. This time the battle took forever before the sloop turned and ran. We were fully stocked and there ship just spawned in so it was only a matter of time before they ran out of supplies. We finally made it to an outpost and sold all our stuff. All in all the voyage took me around 4-5 hours and was able to get alot of Rep for all the traders. I love this game lol....

  • I honestly like to gather chickens.
Call me insane, but I like going out, catching animals and bringing them elsewhere. Chickens being my favorite thing to capture.
I also like the gold hoarder missions, with the riddles and the maps.
I don't really like the Order of Souls missions, as they are just generic "Go kill stuff" missions.
I still do the missions, but mostly just to switch it up. I prefer to do the merchant missions.

  • @EarthlingVibes The voyage to the kitchen to grab something to eat.

  • Message in a bottle. I found one with a map to Lagoon of Whispers this morning (pretty small island) had four "X"s on it. 2 Captains, 1 Marauder, and a Seafarer! Best single map haul I have ever gotten. Small island meant I was there and done in less than 10 minutes!
