The Xbox One X needs a 60 FPS option

  • 1080p, 900p, 720p, a dynamic frame buffer, it really doesn't matter how it's done, it just needs to happen regardless of how resolution is compromised. The game looks beautiful, it runs great at 4K/30 but knowing the hardware it's most certainly capable of this with a compromised resolution.

Now I know Microsoft is pushing "Native 4K on all first party titles" to suit their ambitions but that doesn't mean that it can't have an alternate rendering method. This would be something nice to see in the near future in coming patches, the ability to choose the experience you want.

  • @nyadc85 Would you prefer 4K or 60 FPS?

You can have both, not at the same time obviously but you can have both. Beyond 30 FPS is obviously not possible at 4K, but a resolution option below that such as 1080p or 900p? It most certainly is.

  • I'd prefer 4K. I think 30 fps is plenty fast enough. Perhaps it's just me.

  • Yeah, it shocked me to hear from a buddy on Xbox One X that there isn't a performance mode option. I am sure it's possible to do 1080p/60fps or at least variable resolution at 60fps.

    Exactly.

I agree, the more options we get, the better. Even the standard Xbox One is capable of dynamic scaling, and it's a damn shame not more focus is being put on increasing frames in trade for resolution across more titles.

Side note; were you ever in the AJSA? Your name, and style of argument, seem very familiar to me.

Yep, they banned me a few years ago.

Ah, I remember you vividly then. My username was Berserker back then.

  • We’ve been asking us for 60fps or at least options since way before launch and Rare kept quiet on X support and gave us the bare minimum.
When third party titles such as monster hunter and hellblade offer 3 options such as 60fps, visuals and a resolution mode the it really looks poor from rares point of view as a first party title.

    I’d love a 1080p 60fps made and a 1440p 30fps mode with improved visuals.
