Playing this quest on Cannon Cove. So far the riddle goes like
On Cannon Cove brave and old, I sought to hide my plundered gold
At the giant's stone on the farthest West Beach in search of plunder, lantern raised high in wonder.
So I am at Cannon Cover. There is this small beach on the south side that is furthest West. I raise my lantern in several places, but nothing happening.
That is when I start to Wonder, I am doing the right thing or am I missing things?
@seventhleader8 since it says the giants stone, i would lool for something unique. some islands have giant heads carved out of stone. sometimes its subtle looking
@seventhleader8 also, you raise the lantern with the left trigger. not just looking up. just in case
We had the same riddle recently and it took us FOREVER to trigger it. The trigger in our case was related to music. I was in the right area but couldn't get the riddle to trigger, by companion finally had.
My advice:
There is the "C" shaped area of the island whereupon a dock rests. if you travel into the waters from that shore and follow the wall of the island there is a direct west sided sandy area. This area could be described as triangular. At it's point is a rock that's somewhat large. This area is rather small only a few paces wide at it's greatest.
I would start from the edge of the rock upon it's top area and while holding the latern raise it and step, raise it and step, and repeat continuing onto the sandy area as well.
That should help you a bit.
Presuming my memory is not causing me to remember a wholly different isle. Though I'm obviously wagering it isn't.
@gunnerdk You describe the right location, so you won the wager :-) It might be the raising issue, I got timed out for lazybeard while writing this post, but the next time I am at cannon cove I know the location!

I just think the trigger is 'finicky' or 'slightly sensitive' as my pal was able to trigger it in the exact sic same areas I was at. I tried for at least 5 minutes in that location before him.
