Random pig crate spawns?

    Well, the first outpost I started at had about 10+ pig crates scattered around the dock, then I went to another outpost and found about 4 more pig crates so the deck of my ship looked like this:

    Well luckily I had a mission where I needed to collect 5 pigs and I got a few extra on the way. I built up my banana stock to 100 and collected 9 pigs and by the time I got to the outpost I had lost one pig so i could only get gold for 8. My banana supply had been ravaged down to 29. It was hard to keep track of which pigs had been fed

    Anyone else seeing any random pig crates at outposts? Or maybe I was just "lucky?"

    Also, the gold value for livestock not related to a mission should be increased otherwise why risk/waste bananas on the pigs. I did it for the sheer excitement . . .

    Lots of people are farming merchant reputation using an exploit method of logging out or dying to get more voyages and animals. This works really well if you focus on just snakes and chickens.

    That's why you see so many pig crates being left behind.

    Good luck keeping all those piggies alive, I hope you have a BIG enough supply of bananas. :D

    Ray is right, people cycle through merchant voyages for chickens and snakes and leave behind the pig crates. Too much hassle for the reason I mention above.

    For me, I just pick up the spawned cages/baskets from random islands and leave it at an Outpost as a gift.

    P.S. My crew was doing a Pirate Legend voyage the other night which required us to deliver a couple of pigs but we had a bit of bad luck and sank our ship and lost one of the crates. We were all a bit dismayed and thinking we'd have to hunt about a few islands to find a random one in time to meet the voyage schedule, but the first outpost we stopped at had one sitting on the dock waiting for us. We thanked our luck, and the unknown pirate that had left it behind for us. :)

    @robroythered lol You must have followed us. We went on a merchant quest binge to help it catch up to our Gold Hoarders and Order of Souls reps.
    We only wanted gold snakes and gold chickens as they payout better gold and boost your rep faster. And the fact that only pigs eat your supplies or die when unattended.

    @admiral-rrrsole Coincidence? Lol, I saw all those crates and I just couldn't help piling them on my ship for the screenshot and then I wanted to see how many pigs I could deliver in one go. Well done!
