How do people feel about the idea of a shortcut or teleportation to another part of the sea?
I envision a fast transportation path under the sea like in Clue. You can jump to the opposite corner of the map via a whirlpool. Maybe it only appears if no other ship are within a certain range. It'd be fun to jump from the southwest corner to the northeast corner in a few moments just to change up the location of some quests without scuttling the ship. I don't want it to be a PvP escape (even thought they could use the same tool). I can see it being as damaging as a storm so you will need to do repairs if you take the whirlpool.
