Ever since the new patch I can no longer hear music coming from other players. Is this a bug or is there a setting I have turned off somewhere? I have my shanty volume all the way up so I think this is a bug.
Can't Hear Shanty Music Coming From Other Players
Shanty music gets 'overwritten' by game music most of the time. For example, that tune that comes with starting a new voyage will stop you from hearing shanties.
But there indeed seems to be a bug too. Maybe the tune that signals your sails are aligned correctly now also stops shanties from being heard? I've noticed it especially while sailing yesterday..While we're on the topic of sounds, please seperate the actual game music from the musical cues. The music around an active fort is cool, but when you're there for a few hours battling the entire server, it starts to get really annoying. However, turning off ingame music also turns of the audio cues for hitting a ship with cannons, which is important especially when doing forts.
So I would like the option to turn off the fort music but not the audio cues.@nebenkuh said in Can't Hear Shanty Music Coming From Other Players:

I found a silly workaround, you have to go and change the instruments skin and it will sometimes work. It's really random who gets the bug. In my regular crew 2 of us have it and the other 2 are fine. You can hear some but not others but yeah changing the skin should fix it in most cases.. Only works for that 1 session youll need to change the skin again on the next play session.
