Man... XBL kids are the worst kids.

    A lot of us gamers who have kids or younger relatives that play games online try to be extra patient with younger players. Let's be honest, nobody wants to be in a party with a high-pitched voice that has parents screaming at them to turn the game off. We all started there though, so I try to go out of my way to be cool with kids I meet online.

    Xbox live though, holy moly these kids need some parenting. I've never seen such horrible little gremlins in my time on Steam or PSN. Today's were the worst. I ran into a crew of kids that couldn't have been older than 12. They were low rank and didn't have anything decent to turn in, so I offered to give them some of my chests. Hey, what do I care about a couple chests worth less than 500g? So they do so and I tell them to just leave the one, practically worthless item that I need for my actual voyage. What do they do? They take the c****y item and shoot me in the back. Giggling all the while because they finally managed to actually kill another player.

    Brilliant, child. Make an enemy of a pirate who has completed hundreds of times more voyages than you and already gave you all his other loot. So now I'm going to shoot those two kids on sight, probably make them eventually rage quit. All because they couldn't resist the temptation to troll when I totally let my guard down and wouldn't have even cared otherwise.

    You, XBL kids are why nobody wants kids to play with them.

    @capnlimbless How long have you been on Steam, PSN or XBL ?
    The amount of kids I came across who apparently had [mod edited] is astonishing.
    And they have been from day 1.

    @cnt-thelrox If kids are horrible it's because they've learned from horrible adults. There are no pre-made human tendencies, they're learned by watching adults who are horrible because the people who came before them were horrible, so on and so forth. You can count on it getting much worse as we're in a time where people are offended by words but not by their own actions which inspired those words, and weakness is fostered which only inspires people to take advantage of that weakness.

    You can't just say, "Kid, you're a stupid little [mod edited] because your parents are stupid little [mod edited] who value money over life, duty over love, ownership over necessity." and have that kid take something positive from it. You could if the parent was smart enough to teach them to process information properly, but if they had done that, the kid wouldn't be a stupid little [mod edited] in the first place and nor would the parent because they possess the capability to view themselves from the eyes of another. So what can we do? Take every kid away from their trash parents? It's really the only solution but not one that anyone is willing to suggest, let alone implement.

    People are horrible. We're doomed.

    @logansdadtoo It's not like I'm horribly upset or anything. It's just stupid to be mindlessly vicious. I would have gladly let them sail with me and showed them how to get their own loot worth a lot more than the garbage I had at the time.

    Now they're just 2 more gamertags I shoot on sight and unlike most of those, they aren't actually good enough to do much about it.

    @levernicus I don't know what a crosspost is, but I assume that the /r/ refers to reddit, which is not a site I'd intentionally visit, nor would I endorse nihilism because asserting that there is no meaning is just as nonsensical as asserting that there is meaning. I don't think that life is without objective purpose or meaning, I just don't think that most people are prepared to accept or able to understand the meaning because they don't live in the real world, they live in the imaginary world where they are "name", who does "occupation" in order to "insert arbitrary purpose".

    Eh, I disagree. This game has actually opened my perspective to console players. I try not to discriminate in general, but I did expect the xbox players to be more of an issue than I find them. But in fact, I have had some great experiences with xbox players. They have certainly been some of the more mature players I have encountered, both in fights and as teammates. In fact, some of the most enjoyable battles have been fighting Xbox players who we then hung out with, protecting them while they did a fort.

    I would say the absolute worst s**m of the earth I have encountered was in a PC game community for a particular FPS. The absolute juvenile toxicity that they displayed on such a regular basis really took me by surprise.

    Yeah, I'm sure some kids on the xbox will keep true to the stereotype. But in my experience, either platform is just as capable of producing said behavior.

    @levernicus The way I believe things is quite different than the way that most people believe things. I don't actually believe anything except that my meaty parts believe things and they're quite prone to error. Perhaps it's not the parts that are prone to error but my interpretation of the data collected by these parts. I simultaneously believe everything and nothing. Everything that people do or say is nonsensical because we don't exist in the real world, we exist in imagination land.

    @squallycircle7 Mine was the local pizza joint, bowling alley and video rental store. If people acted this way back then, it would get physical lol. But maybe that's why it was so uncommon. Although ... Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat used to get pretty heated.

    @capnlimbless In their defense, pirates were not the friendliest of souls. They stuck to their own and took from everyone else, often by deceit and without honor. Could be the kids were just acting in the spirit of the game. "Pirates, B$%@#!!"

    That being said, I agree that the level of civility that is found gaming on-line can often fall short of what many would hope for. I have been appealed on multiple platforms, in multiple games, with the behavior and speech of other players, particularly the young ones. There is definitely some parental guidance missing in this world.

    While we can not expect that to be solved here in Sea of Thieves, it would be an interesting experiment if certain well vetted and well guided players were given extra-judiciary power to send certain ill mannered types to a "rouges" server for a month with a notice as to why.

I need you to respond in the way that you responded so that I can point out how ridiculous you're acting and the lengths you'll go to in order to ignore the facticity of the situation that we find ourselves in. Why would I want that post removed when it causes the post I made right after that to seem less pertinent?
