Does anybody have any new weapon ideas to make the game more fun and innovative?
Mine include bombs which you can throw at your opponent and a parrot which passively slows, impairs vision, and deals little damage to your closest enemy.
New Weapons?

@gloog Great! Excited to hear what new ones they'll make, do you have any cool weapon ideas?
Tactical nuke after 25 kills.
I'd like to see a faster weaker sword like a rapier and a stronger slower sword like a falchion with the current cutlass being in the middle.
I'd also like a boarding axe to remove planks.
I'd really love a flare gun so my crewmates can find me, with the added risk of being spotted by would-be pirates.

I just had an amusing epiphany... what about rope? Lol
Rope! Issued from the weapon's box, used to quickly repel from heights (Sail booms, Crow's Nest, Cliffs) without taking fall damage. Maybe the dev's can come up with some comical way for rope to deal a small amount of damage, or some stunning effect, when used against players/enemies too :D
@wodyo I think a utility tool like a simple rope could be used for many cool things, like swinging from, good idea.
@gloog I also think an axe would be a great weapon against enemy ships and and players too, I never thought about removing boards, great idea!
@gloog I don't necessarily see how a flare would be useful, if your crew is leaving then you can just use the mermaid. Although it could be in the same area as the instruments I could see.

There are already flare guns in the game. Any firearm can act as a flare actually.

A real flare, that hangs for a minute, like some band of brothers shizz.
@baconmandeluxe when you find the chest and want some help with the 12 hour dig and the 8 skeletons.
@cobra07102000 I love the idea of a duck foot gun! It looks cool, old, and would be great for large groups of skeletons.
@xbus6 Harpoons would be really cool, you could throw them on ships and then climb up unto the Harpoons. Very cool idea!
I think for me, weapon wise, all I really want to see (assuming we are talking just player weapons and not stuff that could be done with cannons) is an enhancement to the Melee Weapon side of the equation.
As it stands, the Ranged weapons have 3 unique weapons that each serve a general function. The Flintlock is a good Close/Medium Range gun, the Blunderbuss is a good Close Range gun, and the Eye of Reach is of course the Long Range gun. This means loadouts will actually have meaningful variation, but on the flip side of the coin all we have is the Cutlass (which while a great and thematic choice feels lacking). Rather than try to add further detail like combos for Melee, I'd rather see some new options that function differently than the current option to add some tactical choice to close combat. For example:
Cutlass: Slash = Slow Speed/High Damage (30%), Thurst = Slow/High (50%), Blocking (Basically, just as it is now)
Rapier: Slash = Fast/Low (20%), Thrust = Fast/Low (40%), Parrying (Timed Block Only)
Dirk: Slash = Fast/Low (20%), Thrust = Fast/High (50%), No Blocking (Can still do sidestepping as with other Melee, however)
These all have enough variation in them to encourage different styles of play and tactical approaches to combat. When you start looking at it from a Crew perspective, it gives even greater options in regards to how a full Crew might choose to set themselves up. Different loadouts might play better for different functional roles as well.
Outside of that, I'm happy with the idea of two weapons only, and those being a choice between 3 firearm and 3 melee options in the end. Outside of that, I'd like to see ship combat be expanded upon some, with something similar in respect of 3 types of cannon shot that serve different primary functions (and adding in sail damage as a thing). But, that is a whole other topic.
@redeyesith I agree with the choice of new weapons, it just seems that making it so you attack faster but deal less damage is a little, old. I do like the rapier a timed block and possibly some damage added to it could help out.
@baconmandeluxe Yea, it is a little on the generic side, but it still opens up different options when it comes to approaching Melee. They don't have to be crazy inventive with every mechanic in the game, and can fall to tried and true practices.
@oneeyed-w1lliam
1 Molitav Cocktails (Requires rags and bottles)
2 grappling hook (requires rope and hook)
3 flare gun (takes up spot of 1 gun but does fire damage)
4 dagger and battle axe (take spot of cutlass with longer and shorter distance but faster and slower swing rate)
5 throwing knives
6 coconuts (can be used for very minimal HP regeneration or to throw as weapon)
7 grapefruits (can be used for very large HP gain or do a minimal amount of damage as weapon
8 Allow hook melee mechanics when out of ammunition for guns@unkeptbean6214 I like the idea of flares doing more than tell everbody where you are. I hadn't of them doing fire damage in addition, very cool idea.
@cobra07102000 I've heard from a friend that it is in blackwake and is kinda unoriginal, but I still think it's cool.
