A cave underneath wanderers with a weird object has been confirmed.

i notice you find skulls hidden on islands with the gold hoarders symbols on them (which is a key) wonder if connected at all

I feel like if the NPCs are referencing specific things then they 'should' be already in the game. Assuming thats true there has to be a pretty good hiding place on the outpost somewhere.

I've kinda climbed all over every building and havent seen anything, though I wasn't specifically looking. I'll head in there after work and give it a thorough exploration.

I'm still a bit confused. Are you saying the dialog from the vendors are also relics from e3? Or just the skulls as posted above?

This isn't in the game yet it comes out with either the Hungering Deep update or the Cursed Sails update don't remember which one. Nice find though.

Honestly guys, I think this exchange might just be idle banter.

The implication here is that you and a "friend" have invented a key that unlocks anything, which sounds pretty OP.
But more to the point, the NPC uses past tense to describe opening a door near Wanderer's Refuge, so why would the game encourage you to go back there?

NPCs will eventually be able to provide some kind of alternative quests, or more interaction between them, but I'm not entirely convinced this is part of that system.

True, but it's not "your" friend he almost seems like he is confusing you with someone else if you read the entire dialog. Suggesting that he slipped up and gave you info you were not supposed to have. Maybe just maybe something is hidden somewhere on that God forsaken outpost.

I think sadly it's empty blather. I been looking for it for a while, there is a bar tender that tells you that someone buried their treasure on the outpost even but won't give you any clues where it is.

Sadly it all feels like it was just added diolog to flush out the NPCs or be placeholder's for stuff to be added later.

Any updates, maybe we need to form a digging party. I tried to search it last night. But first took me a while to get there when I did was spawn camped until I had to scuttle. Left rejoined sailed back to start digging and well.... yup rinse repeat lol.

Wondering if anyone had any luck? I did find a bag full of mail for captain I forget from the pioneers though. Pretty neat.

This of course is very possible and its another "nms portal hunt" but hey it's worth a shot. You never know...

Any validation to that claim?

Take a look at your Order Of Souls commendations while in-game. You'll notice there's one for killing 10 skeleton crews, which doesn't come until Cursed Sails update, but has been in the commendation list since launch.

It's entirely possible that this will be included in The Hungering Deep.

What does this have to do with the vendor dialog? I mean I see your point... but its unrelated. Sort of lol
