Wouldn’t it be cool if your cutlass was actually at your side, showing off your skin equipped? Or your blunderbuss strapped to your back? The pistol would look sick on your chest or side as well, let me know if everyone thinks this is a good idea I’d love to see this diverse option for characters.
Weapons appear on your character
As much as this might eliminate the element of surprise, I would love to have Holsters in my clothing chest so as to choose if I want to display my piece and where.
A flintlock on one hip and my cutlass on the other. It's kind of the piratical appearance I always wanted.
And giving a customisation option means that some people get the benefit of if they want to hide their weapon choice.
Similar to the decision to douse lanterns to hide your general presence.@j-train13x that's a good thing though, It gives yet another reason to use the spy glass to scope out potential enemies. I think it would be a fantastic idea. Not only would it make the pirates look more imposing, it would give an extra level of tactical decision making.
@j-train13x Not getting your point. Any enemy you don't see can ambush you regardless of what you have equipped, and even then you can switch weapons.

@kalex789 I get where you’re coming from, but it would remove the element of surprise as enemies can see exactly what you have and switch so they have the right weapons to ambush you
What exactly is going surprise you? There's 3 options, two of which require the enemy to be on top of you. If they are closing on you rapidly I can give you hints of what's about to come.
All in all, this needs implemented. A game about cosmetics, but no way to show off some of the coolest cosmetics?

Agreed.
I get the pirate look, sure. Flintlocks tucked in belts and baldrics and whatnot. But weapons display was not in the core concept design. I think it may be due to clipping issues with combinations of different sets of clothes. I notice there is very little clipping if any. It's a lot tighter than most other games, as far as how the separate pieces fit together.
I agree it would be cool, but not as cool as animated boat wakes.@prodigy-burns I mean you lose surprise as in someone sees you with a pistol and comes at you with a sword as it's an easy combo, you can whip out a blunderbuss and shoot them, but If they see you have a blunderbuss, they won't do that and prepare the perfect ambush based on your weapons.
@j-train13x If it's the case they see me first and I don't see them then they'd most likely shoot me regardless, or at least that would be the smart thing to do. If it's the case I see him coming at me with a sword then I shoot him and promptly switch to my sword for the finish. Sorry man, but I don't see how this changes the encounters.
