We all hear about cursed shot... who knows what this is. But we do know how Bola shots work. Tearing through the masts and sails to slow a ship down. I don't know if its confirmed but i heard mast damage was being added. So this is immediately what came to mind. Also, Explosive shot. Not as devastating as it may sound, it does create fires that need putting out, Creating panic. Now for the gadget. A grappling hook, with 3 rolls. First being, a means to pull yourself to a moving ship if you missed the latter. Second being, a whole crew can tow up along side another ship to ensure the boats lock in combat. Pulling them in close for a proper boarding..( don't worry, you can still chop them off your deck if you must.)
and last but not least, i wanna swing like Tarzan onto the enemy ship in style. Toss it into the mast an if it catches you can swing back and forth.
