The sunken ship respawn problem.

  • As a prelude, this happened quite a few times already, we sunk an enemy ship and killed the crew, after a few minutes we realized a stronghold skull was missing after I noticed a guy we just killed swim to our ship from behind. We found where he hid it on the island after a minute of looking.

I am assuming a new ship does not spawn until the sunken ship disappears.

Problem is people spawn a few seconds after it's gone.

    1. When there is a booming ding sound that a ship sunk, you should NOT be able to respawn on it.

    2. When that ding happens a new ship should be spawned.

    3. When that ding happens and you are on the ferry of the damned, have Davey Jones laugh to let player know they sunk and keep the captains quarters door closed until new ship respawns.

A bit tired of seeing people spawn on ships that just disappeared catching me off-guard from time to time like climbing up on the crows nest dropping explosive barrels and blowing the ship up 10 minutes after we sunk their ship.

Please stop spawning people into sunken ships.

  • I have a suspicion that loading in when the ship sinks is what causes you to spawn at the mermaid. It would be better if that wasn't the case, but for now just be aware that players can still spawn in for a short period after the ship despawns.

I believe it depends WHEN you are killed & exit the ferry of the damned.

Examples of how it works afaik.

Player A leaves the Ferry of death and into the loading screen BEFORE the final sink, but moments before.
    - This player is being loaded to the ship before the sinking, but it will be sunk before they log in.

Player B dies seconds/minutes after the sink.

    • This player always seems to get dumped on the respawn island with the ship.

imo, it just comes down to the timing of when players get off the ferry of the damned, and the fact the game is already loading them back in prior to the ship being sunk.
