Crossplay optional or rare needs to fix cheaters

    @laydor I've never saw a hacker/cheater once on xbox live in all those years. I'm not denying that they don't exist outside of SoT on xbox live but they're more like unicorns to me.

    I've encountered plenty of hackers when I think back about the time I played on Pc.

    But I'm not complaining about hackers here when I mention cross-play and I don't want to continue with this topic.
    I said my bits and I can only do so much but I accepted the defeat and will go my way.

    Edit: I encountered one that was unkillable. I never had to deal with that on xbox live before. When I talk about cross-play, I'm mainly focused about the differences between both platforms and the advantages/disadvantages.

    I have been part of the console hacking & modding scene since way back m8, so trying to tell me the xbox one has been jailbroken without proof is just a ridiculous statement. You can PM me the link (if there is one!)
    Jailbreak is for apple products & the PS3. If you have found a site stating it has been hacked or it uses the word 'jailbroken' , then they are 100% BSing you!

    If you are referring to anything based on the Chakra exploit, then that has also been ruled out as a fake/non working as well!!
    If anyone was going to release a hack, it would be TX or C4Eva & neither have!!
    So stop posting fake or ill informed information!

    That is a blatent lie!
    1 - There are no hacks for SOT on Xbox One (search for them!!)
    2 - Xbox One will not run unsigned code (which these PC cheats & hacks are)
    3 - How do you know they were on xbox? (if they said so, that means squat!)

    I just want to drop in and say that in over 15 years of PC gaming, the only game where I have actually seen cheaters were asian F2P games like S4 League, or mods of source engine games. Oh, and the occasional bot in WoW or Aion.
    I've played a boatload of multiplayer games, and there just aren't that many cheaters as this forum wants to make you believe. It is infinitely more likely that you just experienced heavy lag / netcode issues, or simply were not as good as you thought. Or maybe it was an outright bug.
    Besides, why bother cheating in a game like SoT, where dying doesnt lose you anything, and without any ladders or ranks to climb?

    Stop trying to pass blame elsewhere, PC has brought Hacks & cheats to this game, as always the xbox is hack free!!
    That's part of the reason the console brigade have to pay for their xbox live - to try & keep it a safe closed hack free environment!

    L**o, the xbox is 'hack free'. Just go do a quick google search for "insert xbox game here" hacks. Go on. See how many results there are? See how many videos there are? Don't act as if xbox is some kind of hack free Utopia. It's a modded pc with a custom limited OS, nothing more.

    True. Its not a big deal to collect treasures for 1-2 hours in an effective manner and get killed and sunk by a hacker or someone that has an advantage over you when it comes to hardware.

    Ehhh, who cares!? Its just 1-2 or more hours that vanish as if they never existed in your life.

    Cross-play and/or hacking is a bigger issue in games that have leaderboards.

    Just tried that now & the only hacks available for Sea of Thieves are referenced as being on pc via crossplay!!
    Go & try it yourself ;)
    Nearly all other 'hacks' for other xbox games are simple glitches or bugs being exploited. Not ESP & Aimbots like the PC users have!!

    You just described every videogame ever.

    Of course hacking is a bigger issue in games where you can actually gain or lose ranking. SoT is so arcadey and casual that it literally doesnt matter if you get sunk now or then.

    I've yet to meet a cheater ... I see so many posts about cheaters, yet never run into one myself, and I actively engage in PvP. Must be lucky, I guess ...

    There is not cheats on Xbox, hence t other gamers switching to Xbox from pc due to cheaters. Good example is pubg for Xbox. The only mods or cheats I found where needing extreme amount of injection and hard ware manipulation. That is way more then a average person would do and wasn't even on Xbox one.

    It's funny how you see cheaters everywhere when someone manages to get a lucky shot on you.

    Server side hit detection can produce some strange results like getting killed whilst out of sight (especially by skeletons) or players not getting damaged when it looks like you've scored a definite hit.

    I'd be interested to see how much lag you'd get using an xbox on the same connection as a PC.
