Right now, to me, there are two main things which I feel are a total drag:
- Resupplying
- Merchant Missions
And the reasons I feel these are a total drag is because for resupplying, it takes so long and you can lose everything you gathered in a short period of time. And for merchant missions the gameplay loop takes much longer and you can't stack the rewards from multiple missions without having to go into port. For this reason, I feel the merchant missions are the least rewarding and offer very little in terms of fun.
One way to alleviate this I think would be to allow us to buy spare crates. One thing I would like to do is complete several merchant missions before needing to turn them in.
Also, allowing us to buy empty supply crates that we can fill with supplies to limit trips to and from the boat would be pretty neat too. For instance, I can go ashore with an empty cannonball crate and fill it up to say 50 or so, return to the ship and dump them in the barrels. This would be extreeeemely helpful and I think would make supply runs much less aggravating, especially so if you were to lose it all if you encountered a spot of bad luck.
