Ahoy!
Will there be an option to toggle 3rd/1st person perspective added in the future? It’s amazing to me this option/feature isn’t already included.

@makemeuhsamich the only way to see your pirate is to use the emotes. There is currently no toggle.
I used to be all for playing in 3rd person but with the fov slider it makes playing in first person a little easier on the eye.

I pray with everything I have that they never make 3rd person an option. It will ruin this game like it ruined rust. First person keeps the game immersive and realistic feeling. Also it makes pvp 10000000x better.
I respect your opinion. Why not allow those of us who prefer 3rd person an option? I’m not suggesting forcing one perspective over another.

I guess you can't read. 3rd person ruins pvp. It would turn the game into gears of war. Where you can see people around an object when they can't see you. 3rd person is only acceptable in mmo's and PVE only games.

A skilled player will toggle it during combat. Standing behind a mast unseen, for example, and using third person to pop out at the right momemt. It hurts 1st person players, console players, and damages pvp.
This will further widen console v PC debates as well as hurting more casual players.

However, if BOTH players have the OPTION to toggle perspectives, how is there an advantage to PVP?
@makemeuhsamich theres an advantage toward skilled players and PC players.
Battlefront II on PC is an absolute togglefest, whether good or bad.

Hmm, he respected your opinion and was asking as a new comer to the game yet you still started your reply with an insult.
The rest of your post was the answer to his question. But the first sentence was uncalled for.If there was the option of 3rd person, it would give an advantage over those who prefer 1st person. 3rd person allows you to peak around corners and objects plus see if someone is right behind you, sneaking off to the side, etc. Anyone using 1st person would be at a disadvantage as their field of view is severely narrow in comparison.
However, if BOTH players have the OPTION to toggle perspectives, how is there an advantage to PVP?
If one option provides an advantage then there really isn’t an “option” anymore
In addition regarding pvp the defender will have an advantage because they can camp hidden and see when someone else is coming . Thus not exposing themselves until their target is unprepared or they are ready to shoot having already pre aimed and just needing to do a little strafe or something. Most competitive shooters are first person due to thisI am among those who pray 3rd person does not become an option. I concur entirely with those saying it will provide an unfair advantage to those who enjoy/prefer first person, and force those players to play in 3rd person simply to even the playing field, or find elsewhere to enjoy their time. This is among things that is not broken, and should not be fixed. Just leave sleeping dogs lie. Leave it a first person experience, as if we ARE our banana-cronching legend of a pirate. Not watching over the shoulder like an annoyingly stereotypical parrot.
@makemeuhsamich In a pvp game if you have 3rd person as an option everyone will use it and you will never see anyone use first person unless they want to roleplay it or something.
Third person gives you an inherent advantage over 1st person players as it allows you to look around corners and what have you so you can plan ahead where the person playing fps mode will just see someone pop around the corner in front of them and they die with no warning.
@makemeuhsamich For all of the reasons given I don't think you understand how badly this would effect the game.
The only good it could present (from my humble opinion) is if it is only given whilst holding a chest, crate, cage, etc. so that although someone is unarmed (due to carrying loot, animal cage, etc) they would then have the 3rd person view to hopefully balance the odds.
But of course like most suggestions, it too will get shot down as we all have different opinions. lolFair winds and happy sailing. :)
